1970 Buick Sport
Wagon
The Sport Wagon was a high end Skylark with more options and
trim. They are getting harder to find
and are very cool cars. Unfortunately, this car was parked several blocks from the beach by the previous owner and the
salt air has made the body very rusty. Before that, you can tell this was a very nice original car.
Mechanical:
Good running 350 V-8, starts right up and has
no noises,
Automatic transmission
Posi
rear end
Interior:
all original, has some small tears and lots of
stains which may come out. Dash is very
nice, door panels are usable. Headliner
is good
Body
– very rusty - Can
be restored but it will take a lot of metal or bondo work
This car runs and drives and in my opinion there are three
uses for it
1. Restore –
must be a good body man
2. Parts Car – if you have a Sport Wagon this car
has all the hard to find parts – very complete. Drivetrain alone, especially with posi rear, is worth the opening bid amount
3. Beach car – won’t take much to make it
roadworthy again and use as a unique beach cruiser
To make roadworthy you will need tires (they hold air fine
but are worn), brakes are very spongy, something
is stuck in the steering column which will not allow it to go into park so the
ignition key won’t come out. Starts with
key and all other shift position are fine. I think it will need ball joints. All lights
work, horn works, even the back power window works although it won’t go up all
the way.

Thanks for looking!
