I bought this Cadillac five years ago on eBay and drove it home from Cleveland. It was bought new in Lyndhurst, Ohio at O’Brien Chevrolet, and stayed with that family until I bought it. The air conditioner pump seized at the border and is still that way. The car was much worse than depicted in the photos. I put new Cooper tires on the car at Ohio. It was supposed to be a solid car but the floors and trunk were a disaster and had to be refurbished. I have rebuilt and welded in new metal in all these areas.
Mechanically I have put new battery, rebuilt the starter and the alternator, front calibre, bearings, new lower ball joints, new muffler, sent out gas tank for refurbishment, fuel pump, front shocks, rear springs and a number of other repairs to the car. I got a fibreglass parade boot and a brand new top still in the box and I am trying to get remote electric trunk latches to hold down the fibreglass boots and install the new roof.
This car is not a wreck but I am retired and I do not have what it takes to get the most fun out of this car. I am presently 70, and also getting old very fast. It will need a new paint job as the paint has faded from the original color I have been using after repairs. This car is a beautiful example of the coke bottle styling and has the classy vertical scoop suggestions harking back to the original Eldorado styling. I was going to build a continental kit at the back but that doesn’t seem to be coming together soon.
The car can be picked up at Hamilton but I will not release the car until the funds are securely in my bank account and are irrevocable. The car can be driven but it would be better to have the car delivered to your home.
