1940 Cadillac Other

Cadillac Other (1940)
for sale

Price: US $22,500.00

Description:

This Series 60 Touring Sedan
was delivered new to Burton Upjohn (Upjohn Pharmaceutical Company) and spent the majority of it's life as part of a large collection. It is highly original with one repaint which is rare to find!
It's powered by the original 346ci straight 8 cylinder engine paired with the original 3-speed column shift manual transmission.
This car is a great find for someone to drive as is, or fully restore to concourse condition.
While Bill Mitchell was in his early 20's he helped design Series 60 Cadillacs. The new 4-door sedan, designed to look like a convertible sedan, showcased trend-setting features, including a completely integrated coupe-like trunk, convertible style doors, no running boards, 4-window canopy giving more glass area, a steeply-raked
windshield, and four front-hinged doors.
The odd thing was it was meant to be an entry-level car, but the styling was so successful it created
enough demand that Cadillac made it into a luxury model.
