Cadillac Seville (1978)

My 1978 Cadillac Seville needs a new home! I am a long time Cadillac LaSalle club member, and have owned this car for the last 6 years. I have loved every minute of it! This 1978 Cadillac Seville is an Arizona car that I purchased and had shipped to my home in Maryland. This triple yellow Cadillac is absolutely
STUNNING!!!
This car has the
RARE
factory sunroof, and yes, it still works! The exterior is in
NICE
condition (
see pics
), and to the best of my knowledge, the paint is original except for the rear bumper fillers which I had replaced and painted soon after I got the car. The car still has a nice shine, but the clearcoat on the hood is wearing off. Not peeling, just worn. You don't notice it unless you are right beside it. I couldn't even get it to show in the pictures. The paint overall is still in
NICE
shape but does have the usual small chips and minor checking that one would expect on a 37 year old car! There are also several small rust bubbles (dime sized - see pics) that have formed under the lower edge of the molding at the rear and bottom sides of the vinyl top. Also, there is some rust bubbling under the vinyl top along the front and sides of the sunroof. Again, I couldn't really get it to show in the pictures, but it's there. The vinyl roof however is in
NICE
shape!
The interior is in nice condition as well (
again, see pics
). The leather seats are in good condition, but the stitching has dried out from being an Arizona car. Also, the bottom of the driver's seat has been reupholstered in a matching vinyl and matching factory pattern (nice job!!!) by the previous owner. The headliner, sail panels, and visors have all been redone with the factory correct material. The carpets and door panels are all in good condition except for the driver's door armrest which has a couple of minor splits by the control panel, and has been screwed back to hold it in place.
NOTE:
I have an aftermarket hard plastic replacement armrest that I've already painted that I will include in the sale. There are also a couple of cracks on the top of the dash. Again, Arizona car, Arizona heat!
The fuel injected 350 c.i. V8 starts easily, runs smoothly, and the transmission shifts as it should. When the car has been sitting for a couple of weeks, oil does seep down from the valve cover gaskets, but burns off quickly when the car is started. Nothing major, but one will see the smoke for a minute after the car has been sitting for some time. Also, when the car has been run and driven for a while and is warm, the idle seems a little slow. I think the car just needs the idle adjusted. The power windows, sunroof, and power seats work as they should, as do the power locks although the locks can be sketchy at best on the rear doors. Also, the blower motor makes a whirring sound. I'm guessing that it's a bearing. Not a big deal, just describing the car as best as I can. The battery is only a couple of years old, and the brakes were done last summer. The tires look good, but they are old and are showing signs of dry rot. They are probably fine for just cruising around, but I'd replace them before taking the car on a long road trip. That's just me...
This 1978 Cadillac Seville has
NEVER
been driven in the rain or snow the entire time that I've owned it! As far as I know, it has
NEVER
seen road salt! This car is located in Gaithersburg, Maryland (20879 zip code).
These cars are becoming very desirable!!!
If you're looking for a 100 point show car, this isn't it. However, if you're looking for a NICE driver's car that can be shown, this is your car! With a minor amount of work, this one will be a show stopper!!!
