Overseas buyers
welcome!!
But please be able
to speak and write fluent English.
I will
describe the car to the best of my ability. Please see my seller feedback. It’s
impeccable. What we have here is a very solid, running, driving 57 Chevy that
needs some light cosmetic restoration. If you have
any questions please call 443-496-0701.
The Body –
The
body is in good shape. There appears to be very little bondo. The floors and
frame work are in great shape. There are scratches, dings, and some bubbling in
various locations all over the car. The pictures look better then the car. I
tried to capture some of the worst of the flaws.
Door
jambs, door lips are all solid. The trunk pan has been patched up across the
decades. There is some rust at the very back of the trunk pan. It will need a
trunk pan installed at some point.
The
paint shines, but is chipped and faded in various places. If you are able to
wet sand and know how to buff, you might salvage it.
The
wheel wells are in great shape.
No
rust in the engine bay.
The
glass is driver quality and usuable. I think one side window has some
scratches.
The
trim- I’d say half of it could be reused. Some of it is dinged up or has sander
marks in it.
The
bumpers are driver quality. Faded but no rust. The front has a new hood trim
and side trim which are not installed yet.
Belair
emblem in the back is missing and the other is corroded.
The passenger side exterior door handle is off the car but inside the car. I believe the linkage became unhooked.
The Suspension-
The
suspension has been gone through at some point. The car doesn’t drift or pull. The car stops on a dime.
Old
80’s style traction bars
Tires
are older with plenty of tread. One has a slow leak.
The
rims shine, but have some light rust and some pitting. The black insets could
be painted and used as a driver.
The interior-
The
front drivers seat is in good shape. The passenger seat has rips. The seats
were swapped left to right at some point. The tilt lever is on the inside of
the seat back. I believe they are not original and do not know what they came
out of.
Headliner
is in great shape. Back seat in great shape. Carpet is in decent shape
The
door panels are not original. They look ok, but they are too padded and the handle
for the vent windows have a jury rigged sleeve so you can crank them. The rear
window regulators are covered with the padded side panels. No window crank
exposed. Easy fix. Install correct side panel and a window knob.
The
dash top was painted and it peeled up. You can scratch it up with your finger
nail. I’d sand it off lightly and repaint.
There
are some ragged wires hanging down near the e-brake, but pretty sure all the
lights work.
The drive train –
I
was told the motor was a 350. The code on it is 135732430 up front on below the
passenger head. It runs great. Starts up the first time everytime
No leaks or smoke. I believe the car has a bit of a cam in it and does
have headers.
The
clutch feels good and grabs. The car is a strong runner.
-Unsure
of the rear.
This is a strong candidate to do a driving restoration. If you like a 57 Chevy, this could be the one within your financial reach.
