I was looking for an older Silverado that is pre-computer crap, you know what I'm talking about, the boogie man stuff that FORCES you to take it to the dealer where you get bent over the service desk, and ran across this one up in North Dakota. It was owned by an 87 year old man who bought it new and always kept it in the garage. Well I went and picked it up and was quite happy with my acquisition and it drove the 1200 miles home to Texas without a hiccup but it was too nice to tinker with and so I decided to sell it. Other than some dealership installed options it is untouched.
This truck came from the dealer with the following options: Power windows, power door locks, air conditioning (still runs on R12 and is icy cold), four wheel drive, tinted windows, graphics package, tow package, windshield visor, under hood corded trouble light (on a cord and reel that is attached to the passenger side fender well), aluminum running boards. Tonnomatic tonneau cover, block heater, premium stereo with equalizer (plays cassettes but one can purchase an adapter that will allow you to play CD's or hook up an ipod), and a radar detector that is hidden in the ceiling center console which is activated by a hidden button, drops out of the ceiling and turns on (super cool!).
The amazing news is that everything works and it just passed inspection here in Texas without any work. It literally runs and drives like new. It has the original exhaust style and so it runs very quiet. There are no engine ticks or knocks, no clunks in the transmission and the interior, professionally cleaned, could look like new. The seats look like new as it is (the front seat was covered), and there is very minor discoloration in a couple of small spots in the rear carpet that didn't come completely off with soap and water. You may never even notice them. The original floor mats look amazing! The dash and all of the plastic throughout the truck is bright in color, has no warpage and no cracks. The windshield has a couple of rock chips but no cracks. The only part of this truck that showed any wear was the truck bed. The floor had quite a few scratches, very minor dings, and so I put in a Rustoleum truck liner with a roller and brush. I first used 80 grit sand paper and cleaned and scuffed the entire area. The light colored spots in the bedliner paint are reflections and not actually in the paint. I watched a video on Youtube beforehand and my prep work exceeded the Rustoleum video. This form of bedliner has GREAT reviews (Google it).
In addition to the bedliner I put new tires on it at Discount Tire (comes with transferrable warranty), new shocks on all four corners, new plugs, new plug wires, and a new air cleaner.
I just changed the oil, all of the fluid levels are correct, and the winning bidder could comfortably fly in and drive this truck across country without any worries. A $500.00 Paypal deposit is required within 24 hours of auction close. The remainder can be by bank transfer, cashiers check or personal check but all funds must clear before delivery of the vehicle.
I have one negative feedback in all of my years on Ebay and that came from someone who never even saw the 56 Chevy that they had won the bidding on. They informed me that they weren't going to pay me per the instructions on my ad and would bring the money when they personally came to pick up the car in three to four weeks and stated I am not paying for this car until I lay my hands on it. I explained that they had purchased the vehicle when they were the winning bidder and I pass that along to all of you. This isn't an entertainment option while you slug down beers. By bidding you are entering into a legally binding contract (read the Ebay user agreement), and I ask everyone to bid responsibly. I will be responsible on my end.
