Price: US $0.99
For sale is a beautiful example of an original numbers matching Protect-O-Plate 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS. It is equipped with the original 327 small block backed by a 2speed power glide transmission with the deluxe interior package. The car has been upgraded with an IDIDIT title steering column, vintage air, four core radiator and Retro Sound Classis radio with auxiliary port. This car was originally purchased at Konners Chevrolet in Columbus Ohio on 04/06/1967 by John McClain of Columbus Ohio. I purchased the car from the second owner after searching for over a year, traveling hundreds of miles and looking at over 20 cars. I was looking for a numbers matching investment grade Camaro with documentation to prove it's history. With cash in hand, I was ready to purchase numerous times, but was never satisfied with the quality of the car until I found this one. This car is in like new condition and has always been covered AND in a garage. This car has not been driven or sat in rain in over 10 years.
The motor is a 327 numbers matching small block that has been rebuilt with less that 2000 miles on it. The heads, intake, carburetor and distributor have all been upgraded to increase performance but still have a period correct look. I have all of the original parts, including the original oil can filter that will go with the car when purchased if someone wants to put the engine back completely original. The hood has also been upgraded to an SS hood, however, I also have the original mint condition hood that will go with the car.
The car has been repainted (base coat, clear coat) its original Mountain Green color with RS stripe. This is a color combination that you seldom see which makes it even more desirable. I have been to a ton of car shows and have never seen another the same color. All of the glass is in great shape and original with the exception of the windshield which was replaced with an aftermarket version. The suspension, gas tank, brakes, and brake lines have all been replaced with new components. The bottom side of this Camaro looks like new and has been painted with the correct color and sheen as original.
Also included with this car is the original owners manual with protect-o-plate, 1967 dealers brochure, 1967 Custom Feature Optional Accessories brochure and incredible photos of the first owner on the day the car was purchased new in 1967.
The car runs great and sounds incredible. THIS IS A TRUE INVESTMENT GRADE CAR FOR THE SERIOUS CAR COLLECTOR. You will have a hard time finding another numbers matching car again in this condition with this type of documentation. I have a lot of pics that I can send if you are interested including photos of the numbers on the engine pad and transmission that matches the numbers on the protect o plate proving it is a numbers matching car.
E-mail or call me (8am-9pm) with any questions regarding the car. I love to talk about it and will answer any questions you have.
Thanks for looking
I reserve the right to end this auction early due to the car being for sale locally.
