For sale is my 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu custom in beautiful shape - Original CA car (3rd owner) comes equipped with a fully rebuilt 283 (0.30 over) original 65 block, replaced lifters, cam, push rods, roller rockers, rocker studs and nuts, intake and new Edlebrock 650 carb. Has Hooker long tube headers coupled with a flow-master exhaust sounds amazing - Trans is a Tremec 5spd that shifts very smoothly with 355 gears in rear - revs about 3100 RPM in 5th gear at 70mph
Paint is GM Regal Red that looks amazing, tons or depth and shine, really pops - paint is about 9 mos old, polished and clayed with Pinnacle products. Paint has not been color sanded yet and look
Front suspension - Tubular Upper Control Arms, Tubular Lower Control Arms, Forged 2 Drop Spindle, Aluminum Body Shock Absorber, Splined Front Sway Bar, 600 Steering Gear with Rag Joint, Tubular Tie Rod Adjusters - Inner and Outer Tie Rod Ends with Idler Arm Chevelle Rear Suspension s fantastic. Wheels are new, American Racing Torque Thrust 17 wheels - 17x7 in front and 17x8 in rear wrapped in BFG's G-Force sports - 235 45 17 and 255 45 17. All with less than 200 miles on them - Brakes are power 12 Wilwood 4 piston Disc in front and drums in rear.
History - Every car has its story and this car is no different. This Chevelle Malibu 283 started its life out as a Willow Green (Code H) Chevelle with Willow green interior. The seats are the same config as 1965 but the shifter has now been moved to the floor coupled with a very reliable Tremec 5 spd. It was manual shift on the tree (hence new steering clumn with tilt wheel) purchased in CA in 1965. Since then the car has been restored as a custom cruiser with its rebuilt 283 and updated suspension, brakes and more is a pleasure to drive. I am third owner of the car in last 51 years. This Chevelle is gorgeous, runs great and is an extremely reliable cruiser. Prefect for the guy or gall who wants to just hit the key and drive without any major issues that seems to come with a lot of muscle cars. This car was purchased for my daughter and I to enjoy and go to cars and coffee and shows on the weekends.
Everything on this car works perfectly, all lights and signals, heat, defrost and fan, radio is the vintage car radio look with modern applications. Wipers, back up lights, even the cigarette lighter works to charge your Iphone as does the odometer and speedo - the original warning lights also work. battery is new and charges perfectly with alternator.
As stated above car runs perfectly and handles well with the upgraded suspension -engine went through break in properly, rockers adjusted afterwards, this engine runs silky smooth. Car has about 250 miles on her since all adjustments and proper break in, Odometer reflects the actually mileage since restore and break in.
Don't let this small block 283 cause you to look past her- These small blocks are a blast to drive.. This car is a cruiser and runs great around town or on the highway at 75MPH with zero issues. Runs at 190 to 210 degrees never runs hot. Lots of attention to details with this Chevelle - a perfect cruiser, local show ready hot rod
