Chevrolet Corvette (1978)

Price: US $8,898.00
For sale here, I have a real nice red on red '78 Corvette as a T - Top convertable and priced very competitively to provide the next owner with some classic American muscle Summer time fun on wheels. It is equipped with the standard L48 V8 350 Small Block Chevy engine. It also has the 3 speed automatic transmission which has been resealed by the previous owner. Car is all stock and original except for the wheels and the cassette tape deck/radio system. The antenna works and retracts upon the radio being turned off. Numbers match and has been documented by the Corvettes of Auburn shop. Corvettes of Auburn have also completed my servicing needs and repairs on the car since I have had it which includes a new tachometer assembly and a complete front and rear end service, new thermostat and housing gasket, coolant system flush, complete carburetor rebuild and tightening any item that needed to be tightened up. Service records reflect these jobs aforementioned. Tire tread is still plentiful. I installed a new Red Top Optima battery back in November of '14 as well for better long term use out of the battery. The A/C system is intact with original compressor and lines for the R12 refrigerant, but the downside (but fixable nonetheless) is it's not operational and would need an R134 refrigerant retrofit which any competent vintage car shop is capable of doing by all means. A new carburetor soft choke line has also been replaced as they are susceptible to wearing out due to the choke being thermally operated. New Valve Cover Gaskets have also been installed for good measure and peace of mind.
The original owner's manual is with the car as well. The car stayed local since it was bought new in Vancouver, WA and was owned by a school teacher who had it as a daily driver for a while until the previous owner before me took possession and had it for 30 or so years and only drove it seldomly as I do myself. While I avoided driving in the rain, I did have to if a sprinkle came my way during a commute with the car. I would only hand wash the car to minimize water intrusion even though the seals are still in decent condition with slight wear from use over the years. Rust is very minimal and paint is in decent condition and there are no stress cracks in the fiberglass bodywork. I do have a car cover that will be included with the purchase. I also have a new genuine GM metal hood badge as well which will be included and has the box and is wrapped, which was purchased from Corvettes of Auburn.
The vacuum actuated headlights are operational as well and I have a video showing them in operation as well as the engine running after a cold start. Contact me if you want the videos or if you want to me to text you more pics of the car.
You might be wondering why I'm selling this car and the reason(s) are quite simple, with work and school, I just don't have the time to enjoy it and drive it accordingly and with the PNW weather patterns, the time to drive it is not long as like as if I had lived in the Southwest etc. I figure if I sold this puppy, I could curb some school related expenses down the road etc.
As for the price, I'm asking $9000, though I am open to reasonable offers. Also, this is a turn key car to get in, drive and enjoy, not a concours type of vehicle. Contact me for more info and no low ball offers either, only serious inquiries. This is a great collector's item and want the car to go to a home where it will be appreciated and taken care of given the real low miles on it. No joy rides or coming by to kick the tires kind of BS as well. Don't waste my time let alone yours, life's short as it is. PM me if needed. I will be happy to provide the VIN upon request. Odometer has 52, 4xx Miles on it. This item will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. Feel free to contact me (Ivan) as I am the owner if you have any questions or want to see the car in person if you are a local buyer. For those of you watching my ad here, don't be afraid to contact me if you want to work a deal outside of ebay as I have this car on my local classifieds as well etc.
The fine print:
This agreement states that the Buyer consents upon buying this vehicle, by his own free will, the payment method(s) used as described in this advertisement (2. A) is in fact by all means genuine and legitimate and the Buyer shall be held responsible for any criminal and/or civil liabilities that would arise as a result of committing any fraudulent financial activity as prescribed under the Washington State Statutes (R.C.W.), Ebay and PayPal policies regarding fraudulent and unlawful financial activities as applicable with personal property items sold privately.
If you want to see the car in person as a local buyer, my standard practice is to meet up at my local Police Station as a way to curb potential scammers as they are quite prevalent here on Ebay. No exceptions unless I approve of the venue beforehand etc. Local in person sales will have a buyer/seller contract that will be signed in order to protect the integrity of the transaction. Also, as a courtesy, don't be one of those flaky buyers that will string me along and then not communicate your intentions etc. with me. Also I must stress, as the buyer, you must provide me with bona-fide proof that you as a buyer are not a scammer etc. as I will expect legitimate communication efforts when the buying process is in full swing. In other words, I must be able to speak to a legitimate Buyer in person via phone etc. I will provide my phone number upon request once I establish rapport and know who I am conducting business with. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs incurred and coordinating with me with shipping etc.. Know what you are getting into as I am in school and work as well, and I don't have time for jokers as such being that I am a USAF veteran and value people's time and I would expect the same for I want to make an honest, no BS deal here. The clean Title will be shipped to the buyer after all payments are cleared without hindrances. Thanks for looking and have a great day.
