Price: US $7,250.00
89 Corvette Convertible
Asking $7250.
May consider some partial trades: Cab-over Truck Camper, Snow
Plow for truck, larger wheels and 10-ply tires for a Chevy 3500 4WD truck, a
car trailer or enclosed trailer, a 2003 or newer Toyota Corolla for my wife, etc…
The car currently has 114, 000 miles, and is in good condition.
I am the fifth owner and have had the car for about 4 years. She has a
clean Carfax. It has been my daily driver for much of that time. I’ve put about
23, 000 miles since I bought it and have had very few little issues with her.
She has never put me down.
It has the 350 v8 and 4 speed automatic transmissions with OD. These cars
have most of the power options you can think of, including: PS, Power Disk Breaks
all the way around, PW, CC, Int Wipers, Power Locks, Power Mirrors, Power
Seats, Power Antenna, and Tilt and Telescopic steering wheel. The car is pretty much stock, except exhaust, stereo and wheel & tires.
Convertible top is 2 years old and in very good condition. The top has a tented
rear soft-window.
The exhaust is newer front to back and includes FlowMaster muffles (not
load), but sounds good. I have the original exhaust that is in very good
conditions, if wanted.
The tires and wheels are less than 2 years old, and have about 7, 000
miles on them. The brakes were replaced about 2 years ago.
The stereo was upgraded to a Kenwood deck with CD & USB &
Bluetooth for hands-free phone and playing music from your smart phone and
supports Pandora, etc…
This car runs and drives excellent, and is fun to drive. The car looks
great and gets a lot of attention. The car is in great condition. I would give
her a rating of 85 overall. The exterior is nice, but it does have a few small
scratches and some spider cracks on the rubber nose where the previous owner
bumped something like a parking post at a convenience store or something. The
interior is nice but does show minimal wear. The left bolster on the driver’s
seat shows wear and has a small hole about the size of a quarter (common).
While these cars have relatively low horse power of 245HP, the 340 torque
makes up for it. These cares are very responsive and hug the road
exceptionally. I am a fifty year old and don’t typically race the car, I did take
her down the Tail of The Dragon that
runs down through the Great Smokey Mountains in Deals Gap, North Carolina, and
has “318 corners in 11 miles”. Needless to say, that this is a very popular
stretch of road for Sports Cars and Motorcycles. Being I am a car enthusiast
and all of the local police were currently assisting a stuck Simi-Truck, I took
full advantage and ran her wide open down the 11 mile stretch, and I was exhilarated
and shocked!!! No matter how hard I pushed, she would not break loose. She
stuck to the road like she was on a rails.
The corvette has the 2.59 gear ration, which is a very high gear ratio and
is great for fuel economy. I have gotten as high as 30mpg on a couple of occasions
when on fairly level ground and I keep her to 50 – 55 mph. The gas mileage to
work and back which includes a mix of Highway and City roads is typically 16 – 17mpg, and on the Interstate
cruising 70+ mpg she typically gets 22+ mpg.
