Just traded a few months ago, this great looking Monte Carlo SS is ready for it's new home. It just needs a little bit of love and it will treat you right!!Great looking silver paint outside which has just a few door dings on the driver's side plus a small push mark on the driver's corner of the rear bumper. Both the bumpers could use a touch up but for it's age, it is a normal issue. There is some small spots of rust in the passenger side rear wheel well, I took a picture for you to see. The driver's side is okay.
This car is decent inside we did a quick once over with the vacuum. The carpet has a few soda (looks like, but could be coffee) stains be the center console. If you spent a Saturday afternoon with a scrub brush and some carpet cleaner, I am sure it would come right out and look like new. Looks like it still has the factory floor mats in the car. The driver seat is 6 way power with manual recline and the seat belt holder has broken off the headrest, but no big deal, still works fine. The radio is CD player and Cassette. We did not try them, so plan on a possibility of them not working. If they do, great! The center console lid opens and closes, and is not broken like so many of these cars. Normally someone leans on them too hard and breaks the hinges, but not in this case, it works fine. The rear speaker covers are broken and cracked under the back window. I tried to get a good picture of them but there was too much glare with the glass. I'm guessing the speakers are fine, but the covers are not. The radio control buttons on the steering wheel are worn also, as you can see in the pictures. Sunroof works great, as does the air conditioning. There is also a small stone chip in the windshield in front of the driver, lower than the driver's view. We did not have it filled so the next customer can decide on how to have it fixed.
This car has a 3.8 liter V6 engine and an automatic transmission. The 3.8 liter engines are tough and seem to last way longer than the 3.1 that they put in the base Monte Carlo. The engine runs fine and the transmission shifts good as well. The check engine light is not on in the vehicle, but the TRAC OFF light and the ABS light are on. It probably needs an ABS sensor, which is in the wheel hub, typical GM issue. There is an exhaust leak under the car. We have not put it on the lift, so we are not sure where. It is not loud, but it is noticeable. It will require a battery before winter comes. We can charge it and it will stay charged for a few days, but then will not start and it has to be jumped. This car also has a starter interrupt system on it that was installed by the dealer that the car was purchased from before it was traded in. You cannot get in the car and turn the key to start, you have to wait for a small bird chirp and then you can start it. It just takes getting use to, or you can have it removed. We do not use starter interrupt systems here, so we do not want to remove it and cause any starting issues.
The car needs tires badly. It has 4 different tires on the car, both the driver front and rear are worn, the passenger front and rear are pretty good, but are different brands. If you can match the ones on the passenger side, one is a Goodride and the other is different, the name does not show up in the picture. All are the same size, just different brands.
I am starting the car off at $2500.00, which is what we allowed as a trade in. We have a $199.00 dealer processing fee which is added to each retail sale, and it will be added to this one. We are able to put a 30 day temporary tag on the car if you are the winner so you can drive it home. We have to verify insurance coverage, so please have that available when you pick the car up. Our lot is open 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 12pm on Saturday. You are more than welcome to stop by and look at the car and make sure it is what you want. This car is being sold AS IS with no warranty. If you are the winner, we expect you to pay for the car and pick it up in a timely manner. We require a $500.00 deposit via PayPal within 48 hours of the winning bid. You will have 7 days to complete the sale and pick the vehicle up.
