This is my first car; aka Big Blue. I purchased this car January 29, 1973 from a fireman who saved the car from a barn that was about to catch fire from the house fire. The first owner was an elderly man who forgot to put antifreeze in the car that winter. So, Morris Tonda (renowned local VCCA member) asked me if I wanted to drive it or show it. I said drive it; which is why we ordered a brand NEW 1954 Chevrolet 115 HP, 235 CID crated short block directly from the factory.

installed in 1974 with Morris Tonda's (local renowned VCCA member) supervision.
Manual transmission with vacuum gearshift.
Original Fleet-weave mohair interior in

condition. Plastic seat covers installed shortly after I bought the car on January 29, 1973.
Body very solid and well fitted.
Quality body and paint refinish using original Freedom Blue paint. All work done by Walt Johnsen

Many NOS and some quality used parts available with the car; including 7 front and rear bumper guards, the car's original side mirrors(to be re-installed), antennae, and rubber rock shields; PLUS many other items.

| “In order to competitively show "Big Blue", all bumpers/guards and grill should be re-chromed. Front right shock absorber leaks a little. I purchased ALL 4 rebuilt shocks for the car.Only the front right shock needs to be replaced with with the new rebuilt shock; other three on car are fine. Alignment should be done after replacing the front rt shock. BEAUTIFUL CLASSIC CHEVROLET. Solid driver.” |
