Description:

This is a beautiful example of the rare, 1988 S-10 Durango and runs very well. This is the 2.8L, V6 engine. The 2.8 is the mid-power engine for these models, smaller than the gas-guzzling 4.3, but with more power than the little 2.2.
The paint is in lovely shape. With only minor chips, scuffs and scratches here and there. There is one, very small rust spot beneath the driver's side window (please see pics). Overall, the paint is beautiful and will really stand out with a coat of wax. I have yet to see another S-10 with this particular paint scheme, and I think it is very appealing.
The bed is coated with Rhinoliner, though it is fading through in some areas (particularly on top of the rails). A new coat would not hurt anything. The tailgate is undamaged works as it should.
The engine is NOT equipped with a carburetor . It is Throttle Body Injected (TBI) which is a dramatic improvement over the fussy carbs of the early 80's. This particular engine is fitted with a new fuel filter and a fuel cooler to aid with combustion in very hot climates. It lived the majority of its life in South Carolina, Georgia and Mississippi. The battery is less than 18 months old, and the engine starts and runs very well without any smoking or skipping. It does not burn any oil. The spark plugs were replaced less than two years ago, as was the radiator and engine thermostat.
The air conditioning has been converted from R-12 to R134 and it cools very well. The heat will cook you through, even in the coldest of temperatures.
The automatic transmission shifts easily and smoothly through all the gears. It does not slip, bind, or lurch. I would not hesitate to drive this truck anywhere. It has recently taken me from South Carolina to Alabama, up to Ohio, and back to Mississippi without a single hiccup.
The interior is in very nice shape. There is a minor crack in the dash, near the driver's side speaker. The seats are complete without any major tears, though the driver's seat does have minor wear-through on the left-hand side. All of the dashboard components, gauges and lights work as they should. The truck is fitted with a pioneer head unit with USB and AUX capabilities, as well as upgraded speakers in all four locations. The stereo is powered by a 1000W Boss amplifier.
The rear of the cab has two, drop-down jump seats in excellent condition, if you feel the desire to cram some folks back there. The floor pans are all rust free and completely solid. The interior has been coated with Rhinoliner to protect the metal beneath the carpet.
The under-body is rust free, as well as the rocker panels, cab corners, wheel wells and all of the body panels. There are some minor scratches, chips and dents, and there is one spot of minor damage near the rear, passenger fender. It was very difficult to capture in the photos, and it is hardly noticeable without looking for it specifically.
The tires have approximately 50% tread remaining and the wheels are in very nice condition. All exterior lights, including running lights, directionals, parking lamps, reverse lights, tail lights, and headlights (dim and high-beams) all work exactly as expected. The steering is very tight, without any wobble or shake, even at 80+ MPH. The throttle is responsive and quick.
Please note the following issues: There is a vacuum leak somewhere. This prevents the cabin air flow from changing. Currently, it blows only from the dash and foot boards, simultaneously. In such a small passenger compartment, I never bothered to chase the leak, though I did replace the easily accessible vacuum lines under the hood within the last year. Because the cruise control works off the same, vacuum system, it is currently inoperable, though it was working perfectly before the leak surfaced (as was the directional air). I imagine that this will be a very simple fix, I just never bothered to do it.
The transmission fails to enter first gear, when it is cold and dropped directly into overdrive. It has been this way since I purchased the vehicle more than five years ago. It immediately engages when dropped into drive when cold. If hot, it will drop into overdrive exactly as expected. After first gear engages in drive I always shift back into overdrive and the transmission works exactly as expected. I do not know why it has this little quirk, but I have never had a problem with it, and I don't expect you will either.
When very hot or very cold (more than 90 or less than 10 degrees F), I am sometimes compelled to spray a bit of starter fluid into the throttle body. This works every time and is very easy to do. I will be glad to show the buyer how to do so, if he/she prefers.
Please understand that I have tried to describe the truck to the best of my ability. I am not trying to mislead anyone about anything, and I will gladly answer any questions or provide additional pictures/information. All you need to do is ask! Please carefully review all the photos I have provided, and do not hesitate to message me for more pictures or to come take a look at the little gal.
I have the clear title in hand, but Wyoming requires that the title be signed by a notary before it can be transferred to the buyer. I have a notary available, and I will have it signed, notarized and ready to go as soon as a sale is finalized.
I am more than happy to assist with shipping and/or transportation wholly at the buyer's expense. I can even meet the buyer at the Denver International Airport free-of-charge upon receipt of full payment. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required within 48hours of auction close. I can easily store the vehicle for a little while, free-of-charge (just send me a message), but payment-in-full must be received within 7 days of auction close. PayPal, as always, is preferred. However, I will accept cash-in-person or a certified bank check if necessary.
This being a 28 year old truck, no warranty is expressed, offered or implied. Please do not hesitate to come take a look at the truck and take her for a spin before buying. Just message me for details. I am also listing the truck locally, so reserve the right to cancel bids and/or end the auction early at my discretion.
If you have less than 10 feedback, or have negative feedback within the last 12 months, please message me prior to bidding, or I will be forced to cancel your bid.
Thank you very much for your time! I really hope this truck goes to someone who will love her as much as I have...
