I have a 2002 PT Cruiser I am looking to sell. This car has been a daily driver for the past two years and has 189xxx miles.
Please read the whole post before contacting or bidding.
The car has great heat and A/C, is an automatic 4 cylinder, and runs perfectly.
This car had a complete professional overhaul about a year ago. The service included a new head, new head gasket, water pump, timing belt, and many new coolant hoses. The car also had all new ball joints and alignment with new tires not too long ago. I should have records for all of this work if you would like to see. There have also been various other items replaced. All of this was around $3000 worth of work.
I have been wanting to sell for a while now, but recently it developed a coolant leak on the passenger side of the engine. This has finally gotten me around to selling.
I have not done a pressure test, and I could not spot a leak just looking around, but since the water pump was replaced very recently there is a huge chance it is something simple. All it needs is a simple pressure test.
Other things you may want to know:
Clear coat peeling on hood pretty badly.
Normal for this car rust in front of the rear wheels.
Dings here and there.
Blower works only on the highest setting.
That's about it. I have a bottle of concentrated HOAT coolant that comes with it. You could fill her up and drive it home if you don't live too far. Otherwise, I would haul it.
$1000 or best offer. I am a very motivated seller so do not hesitate to send offers. I just want it gone.
I have the title in hand. Prior Salvage, but clean. This is due to a front end collision before I bought it. It was professionally fixed and inspected by the dealer I bought it from.
Just to be clear, this car does run and drive perfectly. It has a very bad coolant leak that is presumably coming from the water pump. There is bad clear coat peelage on the hood that is not visible in the pictures.
Full payment and arrangements to pick up the vehicle are to be made within 5-7 days. Otherwise, I reserve the right to relist and keep the deposit. I highly prefer you to pick it up yourself, but I will help a shipping company load it up. Pickup arrangements are completely up to the buyer. I will have no participation other than helping load.
