Up for auction is a 1947 Chrysler Town and Country Woodie Sedan. This is a true Survivor Woodie that has been in dry storage for about 30 years. Woodies in this condition are getting harder and harder to find.
This is an original Woodie that will need restoration to be road worthy.
Interior: It has the original seats, headliner, carpets, door panels which are in good original condition. (see pictures).
Mechanical: The engine turns over and will run with starting fluid. I have not run it off of the gas tank because the gas smells very old. The transmission is not tested and the brakes will need to be restored.
Chrome: The chrome is original and does have pitting. The front bumper has a bend on the right side. (see pictures).
Exterior: The metal is in OK condition. There are some dings, dents and surface rust. And there is some rust on the front left fender and the left rear fender. (see pictures).
Wood: The wood is in good original condition. (see photos).
Missing: Left outside mirror, right rear bumper guard, air cleaner. There might be other things missing that I did not notice.
This would be a great Woodie to restore or could be put back on the road as a survivor.
Payment in full must be made within 7 days of the close of the auction. Payment is to be made by cash, cashiers check, certified check or wire transfer. All payments must clear our bank account before the car is shipped.
This car is sold in as is, where is and as found condition. There are no guarantees or warrantees. It is the responsibility of the Buyer to have throughly inspected the vehicle and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgement solely. Every effort has be made to accurately and fairly describe this vehicle.
The Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs, insurance and shipping arrangements. The vehicle must be paid in full before the vehicle is shipped. I assume no responsibility for damages incurred after the vehicle leaves my premises.
