Description:

Amidst all the prosaic and mundane automobiles that traverse our roads today, this 1953 Chrysler Windsor DeLuxe Club Coupe is a unique and interesting sight. It's certainly not the car you will necessarily see in the 1950's B Movie Hot Rod Girl, or drag racing in the film Grease, however it has earned its place among all the different and architectural interesting cars built prior to 1960. Moreover, you would have seen it as a qualifier in the Carrera Panamericana Road Race which ran the consecutive years from 1950-1954 in Mexico, now resurrected as a timed rally, similar to the Italian Mille Miglia and Targa Florio in Italy. On that note, it would be a great car to enter into the current iteration of this race, and qualify via its vintage. Go to panamrace.com for entries and history. Very interesting.
Representing an older, very nicely done restoration with nice paint and sheet metal, with some flaws expected for the vintage, it's a wonderful driver quality car which can be taken anywhere, and currently within the bounds of affordability, in this now increasing prices, collectors car market.
Powered by a 264.5 cubic inch L-Head Spitfire inline six cylinder, known for its durability, and coupled to a four speed Fluid Matic transmission, it runs and drives nicely, starting with the first turn of the ignition key, with no unusual noises or smoke.
The restored interior is in excellent condition, as is all the stainless and most of the chrome, with the exception of the bumpers which have some minor pitting and 62 years of wear. Overall the glass is very nice with the exception of the right and left rear wing windows which are cracked, and some very minor peripheral clouding at the windshield edge at the intersection of the left A pillar. The windows function very nicely. Tires are older 15 bias ply wide whitewalls, and the fact that the Windsor DeLuxe Coupe has powering steering makes is much easier to steer at all speeds.
Recent servicing entailed new spark plugs, cap, wires, rotor, engine and transmission oil replacement, cartridge oil filter, (10/40 Pennzoil w/ZDDP additive) new muffler, complete chassis lubrication, rebuilt brake master cylinder and brake fluid flush, coolant flush (with the correct green antifreeze), and much much more.
In conclusion, this is a very fun car to own and drive, garnering a lot of attention and thumbs up when driving it. The 1953 Chrysler Windsor DeLuxe Club Coupe will be sold as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Inspections are welcome by either the prospective buyer, or their qualified representative. Inspection as a condition of sale, after the auction end will not be permitted, and I additionally reserve the right to end the auction early, given the Chrysler Windsor if for sale on other Classic car venues.
Please do not request what my reserve, or Buy it Now price is, as it would be unfair to other buyers. Realistic offers will be considered, but kindly refer to classic car valuation websites, such as Hagerty and NADA to ascertain current market values for a very nice high #2 car before making them.
Thank you for the interest, enjoy the pictures, and feel free to call with any questions.
Best regards, Chris. 413-575-8600
