With a history dating back to turn of the 20th century, the Auburn Motor Car Company had seen both good time and bad. In the late 20’s the company was riding on the crest with impressive sales, thanks in large part to the leadership and business savvy of Erret Lobban Cord. When he stepped in to save the company in 1924 production and sales... had fallen to a critical level and the company teetered on the verge of bankruptcy. Cord took a number of unsold Auburns being stored at the manufacturing facility and gave them stylish paint schemes and extra nickel-plating, and with a simple dash of marketing, sales took off. After the depression Cord offered a revitalized production and of course a new marketing push. The exampled offered here one of only 20 believed to still be in existence, the 1936 version of the new chassis, the 852, has benefited from a comprehensive restoration. This motor car is finished in Black with Black leather interior. This example is complete with two Auburn mainstays, a radio and the Rumble seat. It has been professionally maintained and detailed and this beautiful car would look amazing in your collection. This car is probably one of the most beautiful cars ever built. The design is breathtaking. The body is in remarkable shape. The doors and hood close flush, as they should, and the paint finish looks very nice. The soft top fits great. - Bid or send a Best Offer with confidence - call, text or email with any questions before bidding. We want you to know exactly what you're looking at. Just ask us for more pictures or a custom tailored video.
- $1000 deposit needed to take offer to seller. Deposit only charged if offer is accepted.
- A deposit is a commitment to purchase and is non-refundable which is applied to the purchase amount.
- Payment methods: ACH, wire transfer, cashier's check, credit card(3% fee), personal check(10 business days to clear), and of course- cash. PayPal not accepted.
- Signed purchase contracts, cleared payment in full, and a copy of your driver's license will be needed before the vehicle is released.
- Our hours are 9-5pm EST Monday through Saturday.
- An offer is a commitment to purchase and is not contingent upon inspection, financing, or any other terms.
Fees and Taxes
A $237.37 document fee will be added to the sales price. All purchases may be subject to any applical tax, title, and licensing fees. Taxes are subject to location of vehicle and buyer's place of residency. Buyer is responsible for taxes paid. All credit cards are charged a 3% fee.
