Just in time to take to Auburn Fall, in Auburn, Indiana on Labor Day weekend!
This is a nice example of a combination restoration/modification of a 1936 Cord Westchester.
It is fun to drive and show.
The body is that of a restored 1936 Cord Westchester. The rest of the car is modified.
This Cord is powered by a fuel injected Corvette LS1 engine and stops using its four wheel power disc brakes.
It has a 4L60E automatic overdrive transmission.
It has rack and pinion steering and a tilt/telescoping steering column.
The interior is a custom leather/cloth seats with shoulder seat belts in the front.
For comfort and convenience, it has power windows, power remote door locks,
suicide doors with power safety locking pins, air conditioning, and an AM/FM/CD player.
The headlights open and close by power, although when closed, do not line up with the body absolutely perfectly.
It has a Heidts Mustand II independent front end and a Corvette independent rear with 3:73 gears.
The dashboard has a vintage look with Auto Meter instrumentation.
It has a Walker radiator and air condenser.
The car has approximately 4000 miles on the engine, transmission, and tires.
I can not take credit (or blame) for anything on this car as I bought it as is. I have enjoyed owning it and showing it and am ready to move on to a true restoration.

| “This car is in very good condition. It has minor paint imperfections and the headlights, when closed, do not line up perfectly. However, it is nice enough that it came in the top 10 of the Lead East 2014 show on Labor Day weekend. Look up leadeast.net and click on the 2014 Winners. The clock works intermittently. The trunk strut does not hold up the trunk, thus the wooden prop which appears in one of the photos.Passed the National Street Rod Association (NSRA) Safety inspection and has the NSRA 23 safety sticker for 2015.” |
