1968 Datsun Roadster 2000 in original condition. Purchased from owner whose father was a Datsun Mechanic and had garaged since 1997, he installed a low mile engine 10 years ago. Son was selling and to get ready he drained and cleaned the gas tank, put in some new gas and car started right up. Front brakes were locked up so he installed new Volvo brake calipers and pads with rotors. Paint is a rattle can paint job; looks good in pictures and from 10 feet and certainly better than nothing but don't expect anything than a paint job done with a spray can.
5-speed transmission shifts well, clutch feels good, suspension and drive train is good. Car needs carburetors re-tuned; especially after sitting so long and car needs to be driven. Could use new plugs etc and a good tank of premium run through it will get her running well. My plan was to repaint, clean up and drive; these are great cars and the 2000 Roadsters are getting harder to find for a reasonable price. I was restoring a Bay Window VW Bus and a friend came upon a 1966 VW 13 Window Bus that I had to have as that is what I originally wanted to restore but couldn't find one I could afford. The restoration is going to cost a lot of cash and I still have my Bay Window; so this and a few other cars are for sale.
Car has a top but it is not in great shape but you have the frame; also I have the chrome top fittings that attach to the car. The front tire was bad so I put the spare on (in pictures), I will get a new 195-60-14 tire and mount on matching chrome rim and put spare back in trunk. I also have a Datsun roll bar that is available for $200.
The Yellow Top battery does NOT come with the car, but I will be installing a new battery that will come with the car.
Car is registered in CA but is due this month ($78), has a clear and clean title. Low Reserve!
