I have up for sale my 1971 Datsun 510. Two things separate this 510 from most others: Troy Ermish Racing and Rebello Racing. This car was modified by Troy Ermish in the late 90's and sports a rare hybrid L20/KA Rebello engine. If you know 510’s, then you know these two names are at the pinnacle of Datsun 510 performance.
Troy Ermish is well known for not only having multiple track records in his personal 510 race cars, but also for building the fastest 510’s in vintage racing. Check out his website and watch his YouTube video with Petrolicious ( here to get an idea of just how great of a 510 performance guru Troy is. He did all the performance work on this car back in the 90's.
Rebello is the premier L-series engine builder in the U.S. They build most of the race engines for vintage 510/Roadster/240Z race cars. Well known in the Datsun community, you can find an abundance of information regarding Rebello online. Troy often uses Rebello engines in his builds, and this car sports one of the more interesting and rare Rebello built big L20 hybrid engines. The engine was rebuilt earlier this year by Rebello. It was dyno'd at 145hp/142tq on a Mustang Dyno using 91 octane pump gas.
The one negative point is that car is currently in primer. The previous owner painted the car in white primer, and I never got around to painting it. This 510 was originally orange and the final exterior color is up to the next owner. This car has absolutely no rust, is an original California 510 and certain items like the fuel lid door, rear side markers, etc. have been “shaved” by Troy for a cleaner overall look. My price takes into account the need to paint the exterior of the car.
If you are looking for a properly modified 510 street/track car, built by a professional shop with proven track performance and that has been recently refreshed, then look no further. 510’s of this caliber rarely come up for sale, and to have Troy and Rebello build you one will cost a whole lot more than what I’m asking. With vintage Japanese cars, especially Datsun's, gaining rapidly in value, this is a great opportunity to snag a nice clean 510 with excellent pedigree.
