1971 Datsun 510 4 door sedan. Mechanically upgraded and Mechanically restored with better, faster, stronger parts. Really built the way it should have been from the factory!I found this originally Southern car in a garage in Connecticut in it's original condition and wasn't ran in over 20 years. The drivetrain was frozen solid so I scrapped the entire drive train and decided to HAVE A PROFESSIONAL RACE CAR master mechanic, not me, build me a NYC daily driver that is safe for my kids to be in on occasion. If you have been to New York City, that means building a rally car. I had several criteria for the build:I wanted it to be built as they would have done in the 70's. I did not want an unruly high compression, high revving maniac with a brutally stiff ride; I did not want to have to slow to 1 MPH for speed bumps; I needed to be able to accelerate very quickly on the short on ramps to get onto the expressways at speed, Needed Good brakes, Good tires and rims, the Steering had to be light enough to parallel park, use pump gas without pinging, had to stay cool in 100 degree weather in traffic and it had to be bullet proof. This car took 8 months to build and a LOT of money. Every single part put on this car was inspectedscrutinized and rebuilt or replaced if need so hopefully no surprises happen (this is an old car so no warrantied though, sorry!) It is loud but not too lound. It has a side exit 2 1/2 exhaust, has a great tone and not over kill.
The resulting car is a car that is very civilized around town: strong and smooth low grunt power from 1K RPM through around 4K. When it is time to have fun, the cam opens up and really gives the car a bunch of power gain above 3500 RPM throughout the range. Estimated to make 50HP over stock, so around 140Hp.The engine and its components/electrics and the drivetrain have less than 500 miles on them! It is not a race car, it isn't stripped, and it could had been built faster but I chose reliability and drivability without compromise over excess speed. THis things is very quick throughout its RPM range, but it is a very very great daily driver that will always start, always get you there and will always make you smile! It has a very nice and surprisingly comfortable ride and is NOT race car stiff! It has Electric Ignition and Electric Choke to make things even easier! You won't have to do much to it besides regular maintenance for a long long time. THIS WAS BUILT TO BE A BULLET PROOF DAILY DRIVER FOR SOMEONE, essentially a mechanically new car underneath with 1971 styling!

Body work has been started but hasn't progressed. There isn't a lot to do, what you see is original body condition so it isn't perfect. Again, this car was built to be a reliable, bullet proof urban vehicle not a show car. Opening bid reflects half of what I am in it.
THIS CAR HAS NEVER SEEN SNOW OR SALT AND RARELY SEES RAIN!
I drove this car a few times a week for the last few months just a few miles each way. I need to sell and get larger car for those road trips up north my family and I want to start doing. It is a really hard choice but it has to be done. I will lose money on this car but at least one more Datsun is alive and running now, worth every penny!! LONG LIVE THE CLASSICS!!

Ask Me anything. I want the next owner to drive it and love it like I have and was intending to for a long time ahead. This is an old car, though a lot of time and money has been spent to upgrade and inspect its mechanicals and electrics, it is an old car so no warranties, no returns and is sold AS IS. It is a simple machine that most anyone will be able to maintain and drive with ease for a long long time.
