1978 280Z, 4-speed manual, with extra 5-speed transmission. Silver with black interior. Car has been parked, covered, worked on off and on for many years.
Have spent thousands on new parts over the years, including (but not limited to): many new body seals, new or good condition emblems, new ignition & lock set, new seat foam and seat covers (not stock covers), new urethane bushing kit still in box, new Mallory Unilite Distributor (paid $389 in 2010), cross drilled slotted brake rotors ($219), stainless steel brake line kit ($69.95), Mahagony GT Steering Wheel Kit ($219.95) new still in box. All glass in excellent shape. New console lid. New exterior door metal trim seal. Most if not all parts ordered from Motorsport Auto, or Nissan.
I have had this car for many years yet never driven it more than 10 miles. Purchased and immediately started disassembling to re-store and planned to fully restore. Then lost interest, ran out of time and patience. Kept purchasing new parts over the years knowing what the car needed. I believe all it really needs is top end engine work, maybe fuel pump, mild body work (typical z rust), paint, carpet pads, new carpet, and re-assembly. It is like one huge puzzle. Would be great for anyone who loves this type of car and has time.
You will need to rent U-haul tow-dolly to pull car, then bring truck to carry all parts home in.
