1940 Desoto Coupe
You are viewing a nice solid Street Rod that has had recent very
expensive work done in 2011. 4, 500 total
miles with a total body off repaint in 2011 with 1K miles or less driven since
recent work was done. This also includes
new interior and Heidts front suspension all in 2011. 60K has been invested in the car. The car needs nothing and runs, drives and
rides excellent. A really good road car. Full file of receipts and money spent on
build.

Body/Paint:
All steel body taken down to metal and repainted in 2011. The body is in excellent condition with body
and paint work costing 17K. Very
presentable, clean and shows excellent. Base/clear Magenta.
Interior:
The interior is very nice and comfortable with hi end material
used. 8K to have done. Like new condition and was also finished in
2011. Front seats are Accura Legend buckets
with console. Rear seat is custom
made. Electric windows, Power Steering, Power brakes, CD player stereo with 4 speakers and 6x9s in the back quarter. Lokar shifter, fuel, volt, temp, oil
pressure, speedo and tach. Tilt steering column, Electric wipers, AC done, but has not been charged. Will
need 134 installed. Everything else
works. Seat belts. Nice finished trunk.
Running Gear:
350/300hp or so with aluminum intake, HEI ignition, stock
exhaust manifolds, 1 wire chrome alternator, electric puller fan and runs cool, Quadrojet carb, new HD aluminum radiator. TH400 rebuilt and works excellent. Rear end is GM 10 bolt with hiway gears.
Suspension:
Heidts front clip rack and pinion with power disc brakes. Welded to frame. Large front sway bar, which really improves
the ride and body lean on corners. Very stable ride and solid. The frame is in excellent condition and
painted. The underside of the car is
nice and clean. Rear springs are
aftermarket with lowering blocks.
Bright work:
Bright work stainless and chrome in very good condition.
Glass:
Tinted and replaced with new weather stripping.
Exhaust:
Dueled 2 ΒΌ inch pipes with Turbo style mufflers. Has a nice street cam rumble.
Brakes:
Power front disc brakes and drum rear.
Wheels/Tires:
SS chrome Cragars with shank style lug nuts in very nice
condition. Tires are radial 215/70/15
all the way around with lots of rubber.
Summary:
Good value for the money when considering the sale price. The car needs nothing other than have the AC
charged. Great for roads trips and very
comfortable. A coupe that can seat 4
people.
