1954 DeSoto Firedome

DeSoto Firedome (1954)
for sale

Price: US $2,650.00

Description:

This listing is for a 1954 DeSoto Firedome 2 door hard top in Cherokee Red with Ivory top. It is equiped with a 276 cid Hemi V8, PowerFlite Automatic Transmission (first year offered), power steering, power brakes, AM radio, clock, Ivory Leather & authentic Red cloth inserts. This car has been through a total frame off nuts and bolts restoration. All mechanicals have been rebuilt including engine, transmission, brakes, radiator, hoses, belts, wiring (Rhode Island Wiring looms), dual 6 volt battery set-up, front suspension, Coker wide whitewall radial tires & Coker wire wheels, rear axle and drive shaft u-joints. It has a new custom dual exhaust system using NOS Mopar double insulated mufflers (part# for 1954) which gives it a wonderfull mellow exhaust tone. It is clean underneath as it is on top. This started out as a nice rust free western Kansas car. The body was taken down to bare metal. The frame was media blasted and repainted. The body was repainted back to the original Cherokee Red in an authentic single stage urathane enamel. The top was redone in an original period looking ivory. All of the chrome was professionally rechromed and the stainless repolished. The windshield is an original NOS glass and not a reproduction. All side glass was replaced and has the originall back glass. All weatherstrips & gaskets were replaced with Steele Rubber parts. The interior was completely restored using Ivory leather and NOS red cloth back to the original pattern. The headliner & visors were redone in matching vinyl. The carpets are all new. The dash was restored including the instruments. The clock recently has decided not to work after it had been restored. The steering wheel has been recast. The trunk has undergone a complete restoration back to it's original lining. It only has 176 miles on is since the restoration. It has a clear Nebraska title. Since this was sold new in Kansas, the title used the motor number for the identification number. This car has that original engine. The owner, now has turned 80, just doesn't get it out much and he has decided to sell it. It is selling with a reserve and the selling price is WAY below the cost of the restoration. I am listing this for a friend and if you have any questions, please ask! The car is being sold as is where is with no warantee expressed or implied. The method of payment will have to be made with the owner, but the car and title will not be released until the funds have cleared. A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is due within 48 hour after the end of the auction and the balance is due within 10 days after the auction. The purchaser is resposible for the shipping of the car. International bidders are welcome!
