1959 Desoto Firesweep Seville. Nicey optioned Original Car.
This car Sold Originally at Central Motor Co, Grass Valley CA. Only 15 miles from where it still resides. I have the Original Sales Brochures, Owners Manual, and Keys.
This car has been garaged from new and it shows. No rust ever. All original panels are very straight.
One repaint in the original color in the Late 80's that has held up very well, still shines.
Chrome and stainless is very good to excellent original. Lights, lenses and rubbers are all still in great shape.
The interior has a few tears in the front seats, and dirty faded carpets, otherwise presents well. Photos will tell the story. SMS upholstery sells the original fabric for this car and I have the samples.
Windshield has a small crack that is a semi circle that starts and ends on an edge out of view so it will not spread and has been this way 30 years. All other glass is perfect. Window frames and wind wings have excellent chrome, bright with no pitting and good rubber. Nice original headliner.
Car is a true hard top.
This car has the swivel seat option. Power Steering and Power Brakes. As well as the Seville upgrade to Spring Colors.
Engine is the original 361 with 295 HP. It was freshend in the 90's and runs very good. Starts right up, ides smooth with no smoking and good oil pressure.
The car was driven on a 2000 mile round trip to The Deoto National Meet in Seattle in the Early 2000's. It was parked after that and not driven since 2003.
The last few months I have put the car back on the road and done the following.
New Battery, Flushed the fuel system, New Coker Classic WWW radials. New brake cylinders.
The car drives very smooth. Power steering is quiet and responsive. Brakes are ok, When doing she wheel cylinders I noted it should have the drums turned and new pads. Also the tranny had a pretty serious leak, that has lessoned as I drive it more. But could need some attention in the future.
All lights and gauges are in working order.
This is a great car for somebody to take to the next level, without having to do a full restoration.
I have clear CA title in my name, registered to Original Plates that will go with the car if sold in CA. Currently registered and Insured.
I can hold the car for 30 days while transportation arrangements are made. I can have the car delivered to the Port of Los Angeles/ Long Beach for $350 and Oakland/ SF Bay for $250 if shipping oversees.
