1973 Dodge Challenger Rallye

Dodge Challenger Rallye (1973)
for sale

Price: US $6,000.00

Description:

This car is being relisted because the buyer mopar24365 is a bidder that did not pay. Based on all the actions and questions this buyer asked, this buyer looks like a scammer looking for banking information only. Beware of this person if they bid on your auctions. They will not pay the deposit or follow any of the guidelines of the auction, they will only keep asking you for your bank account information and make excuses about why they haven't paid. Fake bidders/buyer like this are the scum of ebay! Their word means nothing, they have or ethics, respect or backbone.
NOTE: I already have people asking lots of questions about what comes with the car. What you see in the pictures is exactly what comes with the car, nothing less nothing more. Although this auction will have a buy it now option (unless somebody bids) I will be unable to offer this vehicle for pickup until January 3rd due to my holiday travel schedule. Have a happy and safe holiday!

You are bidding on a VERY hard to find 1973 Dodge Challenger Rallye. This car has several desired options like power disc brakes, power steering, tach dash, rear window defogger as well as many more. This car would be worth a great deal of money restored and probably become even more valuable if converted to a tasteful restomod with a late model Hemi engine. Finding a vintage, unrestored Challenger this complete and this solid is almost unheard of these days.
This car needs total restoration and is a big project. If you don’t have any experience with vintage cars, especially Mopar’s then this probably isn’t the car for you.
This car was last tagged and driven in 1992 when it was in a minor accident and parked. The engine is stuck (won’t rotate) but I believe it would free up easily. There is no evidence of water in the engine (nice dark engine oil) and the cooling system was drained when it was parked in 1992. There really wasn’t any threat of freezing anyway since it’s been in lower Alabama, near the Florida line since that day in 1992.
These “E” body Mopar’s are known for rusting out around the front and rear windshields, this car does not have that problem. They are also known for the rear frame rails totally rusting away. This car appears to only have one issue back there behind the driver side shock (highlighted in the pictures). The other areas of rust damage are common and easily repaired/replaced. Nearly any section of metal you need for these cars is available online from various vendors. I own a restoration shop so a car like this is an easy build in my eyes. The driveline appears to be original to this car to the best of my knowledge. The block stamp is the correct 318 and the date code on the intake suggests it’s correct to the car as well. The front seats and lower section of the rear seat are missing and not with the car. There are no hood hinges on this car, the hood is just sitting there and will need to be strapped in place or removed for transport. The doors and trunk open and close and the windows roll down. The outside door handles are broken (very common on these cars) so the doors have to be opened from the inside. I do have an ignition and trunk key for this car. There are multiple parts to this car in the trunk (see pictures). This car has one VERY RARE piece of history with it, the original build sheet is still located inside the upper portion of the back seat. It’s clear and readable. I will not remove it from the seat, I will let the new owner do it.
Take your time and study the 73 pictures in detail, they should answer any/all questions you could have. I’ve tried to highlight things in red in many of the pictures. I want the buyers to see everything I see.
I am describing this car to the best of my ability with pictures, that being said, you are buying this car by what you see in the pictures. Be sure this is the car you want BEFORE you bid because the sale is final! The data tag is shown in the pictures as well as translated by an online Mopar data plate site (see above).
I own a vintage car restoration business so I deal with cars like this daily. I realize that I may never see another 1973 Challenger this complete or solid. However, I have so many in line already that I’m passing this one along to the next person. I have a clear, open Tennessee title in my name with this car.
This is a NO RESERVE auction so the first bid could be the winning bid. However, I am also advertising this car locally for $7000 cash. If I get a local buyer before I get a bid on this auction I will end the auction without notice. If the car has bids here then I will not sell it locally, I will simply instruct the local buyer to go bid on this auction. I will put a $7000 buy it now option on this auction for buyers that don't like to wait and that recognize the value of this American Muscle Car.
And now for the formalities; This car does not run. This car does not have a warranty of any kind. Ask ALL of your questions BEFORE YOU BID! If you cannot afford this car do not bid! This car will have to be hauled/towed from its current location at the expense of the buyer. I will not sell parts off this car. I am NOT interested in any trades at this time.
This could be your chance to own an iconic piece of American Muscle car history, don’t pass it up. You probably won’t ever see another 73 Challenger this complete this cheap.
Be sure to look at my other auctions, I'm selling some vintage muscle car parts. Starting in January 2016 I plan to liquidate hundreds of rare vintage car/truck parts. You should mark me as a favorite seller and follow my auctions because I'm also going to be listing a 1974 Challenger Rallye 340 body in the near future, as well as a crazy rare assortment of parts. I recently sold a 1968 Roadrunner 4-speed, a 1969 GTO 4-speed and a 1968 GTX 440. You never know what I will decide to sell next. ....
As you can see from my feedback, I don't play games! I call it like I see it and treat customers like I want to be treated. I don't have the time or patience to deal with time wasters, tire kickers or bidders that don't pay. That being said, if you cannot afford this car don't bid on it! I will not arrange shipping for this vehicle, that will be the responsibility of the buyer. Since this car does not run or have brakes, the buyer will need to provide a way to get this car up on the transport vehicle. If the buyer happens to be in a path that I travel on a normal basis (between Tennessee & Florida) I would consider delivery for a fee ONLY AFTER the buyer pays for the car in full, in person.
Due to the scores of time wasters and bidders that don't pay, I require a NON-REFUNDABLE $500 deposit on this car within 24 hours of auctions end. This is NOT an option! The remaining balance is due within 7 days of auctions end by bank to bank transfer or cash in hand.
Bid with confidence and bid to win!
