Summary:
This has been a two-owner local car since new. Off the road since 1992, a mechanical
restoration was begun and not finished. It is being sold as a non-running project, with steering and brakes
operable for transport. The engine was
fully rebuilt less than two years ago, and has been sealed, placed indoor dry
shop storage, and turned as appropriate to keep it ready to fire. The engine is ready to go, wired, at
TDC. The transmission was done prior to
the engine. The carburetor may need to
be gone through, but might still be fine as-is. All that is left to be a runner/driver again is to connect the fuel
lines, add fluids, buy and install a new battery, make a few electrical
connections, and have the exhaust system done from the manifolds back. All the hard work is done. A grand gets you on the road.
The body is straight; not perfect, but very straight. Paint is old, but still looks cool as
heck. Nothing left to find for the car;
it’s all here. Obviously it would look
amazing in Gold Metallic again, with a new white/gold/black interior, but it is
cool and enjoyable as-is. No overt
exterior rust issues; hood, rockers, deck lid, doors, trunk, etc. are very
solid. Needs a passenger-side rear floor
repair; driver’s side has some rust, but not enough to require replacement
unless you are a fanatic about a few minor perforations.
The interior is compete and usable as-is, but obviously worthy
of restoration... it would look stunning restored with original premium white upholstery, gold door panels and seat backs, and black door paint, dash, headliner, and carpet. Package tray area was cut for
bigger speakers (will cover w/new package tray upholstery), doors had small speakers in the lower door panel area (will cover w/new door panels).
Clear title in hand, matches VIN exactly for export, inspection, etc. Original Certicard and
under-hood holder are both still present. Fender tag is original, present, and easily readable. I have receipts for the engine rebuild.
Please be prepared to remit payment in full within 3 days of
auction’s end via deposit into my Bank of America account, or bank wire
transfer.
While every effort is being made to describe the vehicle as
accurately as possible, it is in fact a 49-year-old classic project, and being
sold as-is, without warranty or guarantee expressed, written, or implied.
I own a restoration shop and can help coordinate affordable
shipping. The choice must be yours alone, but I’m happy to do the legwork for you.
Feel free to call Tim at 360-936-9257 with any questions you
may have.
