Description:

1964 Dodge Dart GT 2 Door Hardtop. 99% Restored – ready to enjoy!
We started with a very solid, very complete Los Angeles, CA car that was sold new at Hollywood Dodge in 1964 to a lady who lived and worked in the community. This car is a 50th Anniversary Edition originally purchased in gold with a black side stripe, black bucket seat interior, with the optional 225 CID slant six engine and Torqueflite Automatic Transmission with push button shifter. I have researched the history of this car starting with the original purchaser in 1964.
We purchased this fine, two-owner California car, trucked it across the country to the South, and began the multi-year process of a slow, complete, methodical restoration.
We restored it to an extreme degree, starting with rebuilding the engine, transmission, differential, steering, brakes and suspension. A very mild cam upgrade was installed for added performance. New Firestone tires complete the mechanical restoration.
We then went to the body and interior, refinishing this beauty in its original Gold with Black trim exterior and black vinyl Interior, using new matching vinyl to cover the original seats.
This is the original color combination that was used by Dodge in the 1964 Showroom Brochures (see photo), and is original to this car (which is part of what drew me to restore this particular car).
This car is a joy to own and drive, or take to a fine classic car show and show off!
Recently, due to health reasons, I have been unable to finish it and enjoy it as planned, and am now forced to sell it to pay medical and other bills. There are two things left to do: 1) rechrome the hood and trunk trim, GT emblems and taillight bezels (cost: $450.), and 2) replace or straighten the headlight bezels (cost: about $100). The headliner did not come out perfect when installed, and that should be smoothed out properly at the rear, at minimal cost and time.
Everything works; blinkers, horn, wipers, etc! This car drives like it should; it’s basically a new car from the ground up, built to original 1964 specs.
I have invested a little more than $20, 000 in the restoration of this rare, beautiful, desirable Dodge Dart GT. I realize that I can expect to lose a substantial amount of money in the sale of this car, due to changes in the economy over the past few years, and due to the fact that I was in the process of over-restoring the car, no expenses spared, with the intention of keeping and enjoying it.
I have a clean, clear title in my name to transfer the car to its new owner.
This car is a lot of fun to drive and to show at car shows. Look at the photos closely and you’ll see why.
Ask any questions before you bid! Now for the fine print: This vehicle is being sold as is. Seller makes no representations or warranties, nor are any representations or warranties relied upon by bidders in making bids. By placing a bid on this vehicle you are entering into a legal and binding contract to purchase the above-described vehicle. I reserve the right to cancel all existing bids and end the auction early should the item no longer be available for sale. If you bid, be prepared to pay for the car. Car will only be released after receipt of clear funds. All bidders domestic and international will be responsible for any shipping or transportation charges. The vehicle is titled to me (for many years) and will be easy to title in your home state.
Thank you for looking, bidding and buying. Enjoy!
