1992 Dodge Daytona IROC/RT. A brief history of this car is the Daytona IROC R/T is a street legal cousin to the record breaking IROC Daytona Racers. It has a 224 hp. 16 Valve Turbocharged engine. Sport Modified Maximum Performance Suspension and ABS brakes.It was only available in two colors. Indy Red Clear Coat and Bright White Clear Coat. The engine is mated with a close-ratio five speed transmission with high capacity gearset. The car has Eagle tires for top performance mounted on six inch wide cast aluminum Ninja wheels.
Being an avid Daytona fan, I purchased this car approx. 7 years ago. I realized the oil pump was gone and had one supplied by NAPA installed professionally. It was unknown this was a defective oil pump and while driving the car I ruined the engine. I then had the engine professionally rebuilt by a reputable machine shop costing $ 4, 800.00. I also had to replace the crank and head. I put new Eagle tires on it and a new clutch. I have receipts posted on this auction for over $ 6, 300.00. I have more receipts totaling over & 7, 500.00 invested. The newly rebuilt motor has less than 1, 000 miles on it.
I had intention next to have the car repainted and body work repair near the doors. Unfortunately I don't have the time and would like to have the space back in my barn. As the years went by other activities and interests kept me from completing the car's restoration. The car is work in progress. I have more receipts but wasn't going to post them all. Someone who is capable of body work around the doors and paint will get an incredible buy. The upholstery could use a good cleaning from barn dust. I didn't notice any obvious tears. She starts right up and I drive her around on my property. I just can't see paying insurance and plates if I'm not going to complete the body work. The car mechanically has too much invested not to complete the body work. I am the second owner.
I don't play games. The reserve is set at only $ 2, 900.00. Its priced to sell to someone who knows what these cars are and what they will be worth one day. They are rare and hard to find. Local buyers are welcome to inspect the car by appt.
