Description:

For those of you looking for an untouched almost flawless first generation Dodge Cummins, Here It Is !
This vehicle was purchased from an individual in California a little over two years ago. The seller had purchased it from the original owner a couple of months prior to selling it to me. When the vehicle was picked up, I flew out to California with a certified Cummins mechanic. The vehicle at the time was site unseen and the both of us were overwhelmed at how great of shape the vehicle was actually in upon our arrival. We literally did a quick check of the vehicle, paid the seller, bought fuel, and drove back to Texas.
Once back in Texas, I noticed a small drip on the transmission and had knowledge that this issue was common for these vehicles. I replaced the transmission, replaced the tie rods, bushings, etc, then drove and have driven over thirty thousand miles without one single breakdown. The vehicle was used to commute back and forth from West Texas to Dallas, Texas approximately 800 miles roundtrip and at least once a month. It has only been used once to pull a trailer (Uhaul) by me since being in my possession.
It does not appear that the truck has been used for any extensive hauling although was equipped for it by the original owner from the factory.
I have done some minor upgrades to the vehicle since owning. Placed a transmission cooler on when transmission was replaced, put centramatic wheel balancers on the front end, replaced all of the tires, front brakes and rotors, strait exhaust with chrome tip (the truck sounds good, not hideous), Extang trifold bed cover, placed chrome wheel covers all around (Note someone stole the front two center caps a few months back while it was eating at a restaurant in a less desirable part of town), I placed a locking fuel cap on, a double socket accessory plug, new heavy duty Interstate battery, I also modified the hood latch so that the fluids can be checked without having to enter the cab. The vehicle has a Cold A/C, AM/FM/CD player, Cruise control, Power door locks, Intermittent Wipers, Power Windows, Power Mirrors, Tinted Glass all around, Factory hide away gooseneck, it even has a vent near the drivers side firewall for ventilation without being exposed to the elements. The Vehicle was built when things were simple and has a hand full of fuses, a couple of dummy gauges, with the rest being readable/useful gauges. Everything works perfectly with no dash lights on that shouldn't be and all lighting working as it should.
The vehicle exterior is really good condition, but is not perfect. It has little if any rust but does have some flaking paint in places. The front bumper is bent slightly and was like that when I purchased it.
The motor has been very well taken care of. (Notice the fluids written near their respective reservoirs about the engine compartment. These were written on here when i purchased the vehicle presumably placed by the original owner) The vehicle got a very thorough inspection by my hired Cummins mechanic and has numerous check ups since purchase. I use Schaeffer oil products throughout the vehicle, those that know this product know how valuable this is to the life of the vehicle.
The vehicle is parked in my garage and I check for leaks of any kind constantly. (There is absolutely no leaks of any kind as I would not allow in my garage)
I would not hesitate to drive this vehicle with or without a trailer anywhere in the US or Canada but there are some things worth pointing out to the discriminating buyer. The headliner is sagging, one of the back up light sockets is corroded and inoperable (Not required for inspection here in Texas), the rear brakes need rotors and pads, the front bumper is bent slightly, the battery securement bracket was worn and I replaced it with a ratchet strap instead, and lastly, the front end is due for some work again in the future. These vehicles are notorious for front end issues due to the weight of the motor. I have replaced the entire front end once and grease it every other week. I have placed centramatics on the front but a mechanic looking at it said that a new front end would be needed eventually. The tires are all at least 80 percent but the front ones I have been through about two sets in 30 thousand miles. The original owner upgraded differential installed at the factory which makes for a very noticeable difference. The speed limit in West Texas is 80 mph in places, this truck will easily drive at this speed with the cruise control set. I use to own two similar trucks in the 90s and they were doing good to cruise 65 mph.
The truck is currently in my garage, and has both the original window sticker and owners manuals in the glove box. I also have four sets of keys of which two sets are actual exacting originals that I was able to get made by an old locksmith that is now retired and closed. These keys just add to the nostalgia of the vehicle.
I still drive this truck a couple of times a month, so the mileage may change. Please note that the Title although clear is a (Bonded Ttitle) this was because the individual I purchased it from never transferred it into his name prior to selling it to me thus causing titling issues on my end. Not a big deal at all though, Bonded does NOT mean Salvaged or any other thing associated with negativity, The bond part of the title expires in another year making it a regular title at that time. By then, the vehicle will be an Antique and will not matter anyway. I have full documentation of the vehicle on file with the state and everything was done lawfully on my end. The new title is in my hand.
I even had custom plates added to the vehicle all issued by the State of Texas. (NOTE THAT THE LICENSE PLATES WILL BE REMOVED BY ME PRIOR TO RELEASE OF VEHICLE AND ARE NOT FOR SALE)
The vehicle is located in the Dallas area for those that would like to schedule an inspection and/or viewing.
I need a non refundable $500 deposit by the winning bidder within 48 hrs of the sale. This can be refunded ONLY if something about the vehicle not disclosed is discovered during the inspection.
I will not release the vehicle or title until ALL FUNDS CLEAR MY BANK. Funds consist of CASH, Money Order, or Cashiers Check and if any of this is intimidating then please move on to the next vehicle. My seller required the full amount wired into his account immediately and it was nearly a month before I was able to go and pick the vehicle up. I took a chance and it worked out for me. I'm not asking the same of you, I will have you deposit into a legitimate bank account and everything will be documented for your protection.
I am not desperate to sale this vehicle but I am motivated by money. I get more thumbs up and inquiries about this vehicle every single time I take it out than both my high end motorcycle and sports cars combined. This was my dream truck and a lot nicer than the previous two that I owned in my younger years. I simply need space in my new garage for another planned purchase by the wife and sincerely hope that this vehicle makes it into hands that will take care of a respect as much as me.
I will not deal with low ballers or scammers so find another target if that is your intent.
Please feel free to ask me anything about the vehicle and thank you for looking.
