This was my personal van. I bought used from a dodge dealer back in 2000. It had only 26, 000 miles on it. I know a little about cars so, I can honestly say the oil was changed by me every 3, 000 miles. The transmission fluid was changed twice. I even had the oil in the rear changed once. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the motor, transmission and rear. It doesn't even leak oil. It runs just like the day I bought it.
I had every intention of driving this van at least another 100, 000 miles, but the rust stopped me from that.
New parts on the van consist of:
Upper ball joints;
Front brake rotors and pads;
Back brakes were changed once;
The Fan belt is new, less than 200 miles on it as well as the motor oil in the van now.
The tires are just OK. Original exhaust system.
These are things that are wrong with the van:
A/C has a leak;
Driver window crank is broken;
No stereo or speakers;
There is no battery;
The van has been sitting for 4 months and I know it will start right up and run fine. I had to drill a small hole in the gas tank to remove the 3/4 tank of gas that was in it. There is still fuel in the fuel line.
The van is no longer drivable due to the rust on the frame. The idler arm steering component has fallen away from the frame due to rust. I had someone look at it but they wanted way too much money to fix it. Maybe a good welder could fix this, not sure.
