It’s a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT with 4-wheel drive and a V-10 engine. 488 cubic inches. 310 horsepower. It’s got a high speed rear end, an auxiliary oil cooler and lots of other stuff. It’s got a 9, 000 pound winch on the front in a cradle so you can take it out of the front trailer-hitch and put it in the back one. It’s even got electric trailer brakes.
I special ordered this truck so I could pull a heavy load up the on-ramp onto the interstate and be running 80mph when I reached the top of the ramp. It does that very well.
I also wanted to be able to go in the bad place, and come back out. I’ve been there and I’ve never had to have anybody come pull me out.

Driver's seat needs some sewing where a seam is coming apart, and there is a plastic part that has come loose. A/C works, but does not get as cool as it should - I think it's a problem with the ducting. Gas gauge doesn't work - always shows full. Surface rust in bed. Wipers have stopped working.” |
