Description:

I purchased this Gen 3 for a project car in May 2015. Now that it's finished, I'm wanting to sell it so I can buy a Generation 4 project car. Below are details of the rebuild process. Engine test I ran before starting before starting the rebuild. Fluid checks: Engine oil. 1 qt low and dirty. No evidence of water or other contaminates. (I change oil and filter using Mobile 1 synthetic and K and N oil filter.) Transmission fluid. Fluid at correct level and clear with no evidence of contaminants. Differential fluid. Fluid at correct level and clear with no evidence of contaminants. Power steering/Radiator cooling fan. Low due to leak at hose connection. (Repaired and filled) Tests were ran over a 2 hour period in June with outside temperature 89 degrees. Compression: Cylinders 1 through 9 165 psi, cylinder 10 160 psi. 1 hour run at idle Engine temperature fluctuated between 190 deg and 205 deg. The hydraulic radiator cooling fan would consistently turn on at 200 deg and and turn off at 195 deg. Beginning oil pressure 80 psi, ending pressure 62 psi. 1 hour run at 2500 rpm. (No engine down time between idle and 2500 rpm) Engine temperature fluctuated between 190 deg and 205 deg. The hydraulic radiator cooling fan would turn on at 200 deg and and turn off at 195 deg. Beginning oil pressure 62 psi, ending pressure 52 psi. 30 minute drive time at 60 mph. (No engine down time between 2500 rpm and road time) Engine temperature 185 deg @60 mph. Oil pressure at 60 mph 70 psi, idle pressure 52 psi. Dis-assembly: Removed hood, bumper, front fenders, carbon fiber front fender supports, side exhaust shields, exhaust pipes and front window. Removed radiator, power steering pump, AC compressor, engine and transmission. Sent frame to body shop which used a Dedicated frame machine to straighten a slight frame twist in the engine compartment area. (No heating or welding was needed.) The front of the frame was then painted with factory recommended self etching primer. (If needed I can provide the shop name and number.) Reassembly: Installed engine and transmission. Installed new DS motor mount and transmission mount. Body parts used: New: PS headlight, bumper support, bumper fascia, PS carbon fiber fender support, PS and DS carbon fiber headlight shelves, PS and DS short front wheel splash shields, PS driving light assembly, front carbon fiber belly pan, hood latch cable and front windshield. Used: Radiator, PS front fender, PS carbon fiber front fender support, hood, both hood hinges, hood latch, PS and DS long front wheel splash shields. Repaired: DS front fender and DS carbon fiber front fender support. Repainted front fenders, bumper fascia, hood and both side exhaust covers using Dupont ChromaBase and Nason Clear Coat. Installed, lined and spaced all body components. Installed new battery and battery maintainer. After the car was reassembled I had a state safety inspection preformed, which it passed, and took the car to tire shop to have front and rear wheel alignment. I was told be the alignment tech that only 50% of the wheel alignment adjustment was used. (If needed I can provide the shop name and number.) Driving: I have driven the car for about 2, 500 mile since I completed the project. The only problem I've notice is the Tire Pressure Monitor showing Low Tire.
