Introduced in 1975 at the Paris Auto Salon, the 308 GTB’s styling still draws compliments today. As such, they have always been and always will be a popular way to enjoy the incomparable carbureted Ferrari experience. The 308 GTB was the first of the 2-seater V-8 Ferraris — smaller, lighter and more nimble than the larger 12-cylinder street GTB Ferraris. Its transverse mid-engine four-cam V8 offers more than adequate performance while the sleek Pininfarina designed and Scaglietti built 308 GTB stands as one of the most beautiful and exotic street model Ferraris ever built, epitomizing the first of Ferrari’s now-long-line of best-selling 2-seater V-8 Ferraris. Thanks to the 308 GTB’s low sweeping body lines and the sounds of the well-proven, high-revving V-8 right behind your seat, every trip to dinner, Sunday brunch or your local coffee shop is a great driving experience.
The frontal area of the car has been repainted at some time to eliminate the usual stone chips. The rest of the paint is holding up very well with only the most minor wear marks and fading. There is no fading to the bumpers or black trim. The 5-spoke 16″ diameter modular billet aluminum wheels are fitted with excellent Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 205/55R16 91V front and 712 225/50R16 92V rear tires. Both the engine bay and trunk are in beautiful original condition. The front compartment is in nice condition and is fitted with the correct original 14″ Factory wheel with an XWX spare tire.
From new in Fly yellow with black leather with fresh leather on the seats and the dash recovered. The body is straight and the paint is mostly original with some mismatch from spot repairs over the years. There is no evidence of accident or rust repairs to the body, underside or chassis. The trim, gaskets, window glass and lenses are also in excellent condition. The car has excellent drivability and functioning of all systems and has been extremely well sorted. The engine bay is nicely detailed and the under panels, belly pan and suspension are in good condition. The A/C system is rebuilt and blows cold.
308 GTB s/n 22879 has 54, 692 total original miles and less than 20 miles since the engine, transaxle, brakes, A/C system and cooling system services by Rod Drew’s F.A.I. in Costa Mesa at a cost of $26, 875.81. All smog is removed and so it is NOT California legal. A good looking, great sounding, totally sorted, amazingly user-friendly and ready to go carbureted 308 GTB that will not disappoint, fly in for a test drive.
