“
One of the best driving Ferrari 308 GTSi’s
on the market.”
This 1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi two-seat mid-engined coupe is considered by many Ferrari enthusiasts as the “true successor” to the goregous and highly collectible Dino 246, the marque named after the founder’s late son, Alfredo Dino Ferrari.
The story behind this wonderful sports car is nearly as endearing as the marque. As it goes, the car was purchased in the U.S., shipped to Canada by a collector, then stored in his barn for 10 years, only seeing 1, 200 miles over the course of its time there. When the car came back to the U.S., it was immediately serviced and thoroughly inspected at Ferrari Service ($8, 600) just 200 miles ago, and garaged by its current owner.
It retains the factory interior and is in excellent condition, which includes factory air-conditioning that blows cold. Moreover, the car was professionally re-painted in the original factory Rosso Rubino, the correct color-code for the car, and it underwent a complete 30, 000-mile belt service as well as a tip-to-tip inspection by the experts at Ferrari Service of Costa Mesa. The car shows
30, 100 miles
on the odometer.
Service receipts dating back to 1994 and the original owners manual/warranty book/factory tool kit also accompany this car, as does the car's top cover and spare tire. It has a

with zero accidents, or other negative reports and it has been wonderfully maintained. It drives like every Ferrari should, and shifts smoothly throughout the gears. There are no notable dents, or rust or anything that would be worrisome on the exterior. It’s a fantastic Ferrari 308.
Obviously, the blessing by Ferraristi around the world has driven up the investment value of the 308 GTSi and other 308s, and there appears to be no stopping the price increases people are seeing. Now is the time to buy a 308 because the cost of admission in this exclusive club is going the way of the Dino.
After all, only 12, 000 Ferrari 308s were manufacturered total from 1976 to 1985, making Ferraris like the GTSi model even more limited in some eyes. Values for a good to an excellent Ferrari GTSi from 1982 can see prices ranging from $59K to $89K using guides like Hagerty, NADA and Hemmings among others.
The Ferrari Bertone-designed 308 GT4 2+2 didn’t hold a candle to the mightly Pininfarina-styled 308 GTB series, which the 308 GTS Targa variant evolved from starting in ‘77.
The popularity of the 1982 Ferrari GTSi really spiked when actor Tom Selleck drove one in the CBS eighties television series Magnum P.I. Today, the ’82 308 GTSi is so beloved by Ferrari fans that an ’82 like the one seen here is on display at the world-reknown Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.
What makes this ’82 Ferrari 308 GTSi truly notable for those that understand these engines is the Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injected 3-liter V8 powerplant (2926.90cc/214hp), which easily out-performed the earlier Weber carbureted 308s to become the darling of the Ferrari set, especially first-time owners. Carb equipped 308s had fuel-starvation issues and other mechanical maladies, and there’s plenty of information online that attests to the benefits of a GTSi.
This ’82 Ferrari 308 GTSi needs nothing other than a garage to park it in and an owner that loves to drive sports cars built by Italy’s premiere manufacturer.
