(1972 Euro) Red/Tan w/black carpets and Ferrari factory options of electric windows and Daytona seats. Bare metal paint, fresh chrome, powder coating, plating, new mousehair dash interior, and correct Becker Europa radio restored. Major service completed, starts easily and runs tightly with buttery smooth second gear synchro shifts. This is a done Dino that is ready to go and even the clock works. All Books, Tools, triangle, chock and key fob.
Delivered to Italy in Oct 1972 then imported to USA before 1977, this is long time Southern California and I've owned it for 10 years. Per the Dino Compendium p.259, Ferrari produced only 401 Euro GTS Dinos and p.207 shows these Euro versions command a 20% price premium. The lighter weight of the Euro version body combined with the more aggressive Euro cams, three lobe distributor and free flowing Ansa headers / exhaust make this a superior driving car to its USA counterpart. USA cars also have extra plumbing in the engine compartment which heat soaks that area. I have owned this car for 10 years and it has never hesitated to start nor suffered hot start issues like US cars can. There is a You Tube video P6r2JfTqNQs of a cold start showing that starting catches easily and does not smoke.
Major servicing just completed including valve adjust, all fluids, filters. All new hoses for engine cooling, fuel, oil, and vacuum systems. Includes the rarely changed tunnel cooling hoses and the stainless braided oil cooler hoses. The radiator has been re-cored, new cooling fans installed, water pump rebuilt, the header tank and heat exchanger were boiled clean & pressure tested then all new engine hoses and clamps installed. New fuel lines installed and Scuderia Rampante cross tank and filler neck silicon hoses used. New vaccuum line from the brake boster to the engine. The car drives and brakes straight with proper Michelin XWX tires. The magnesium valve covers are feather light and have had their natural luster restored. The Marelli AEC-103A box has been gutted and a reliable MSD 6AL2 fitted without any concours disparity. New distributor cap, Marelli labelled MSD coil and plug wires. While the Dash was being recovered all instruments' electrical contacts were cleaned.
This is one of the best driving Dinos and is in top condition. Before you buy a Dino, come drive mine. This Dino is also being advertised locally, I reserve the right to end early. Thank you for looking.
