Description:

If you are looking at this ad, you know what you are looking at...in my opinion, one of the best looking cars ever built. Great scale, sexy lines, elegant and flashy like a nice Italian suit. To offer a little history on Ferrari GTB/4 aka Daytona Spyder, Ferrari built a reported 122 Daytona Spyders. One recently sold at Monterey for $2.75M. To the best of my research I would say there were maybe 500-600 Daytona Replicas ever built. I have no documentation to substantiate that fact, but from all I have read there were only a few manufacturers of these before Ferrari put them out of business, so I would say the number is definitely in the hundreds, not thousands. Chance that you’ll ever see a real Daytona Spyder is slim. Chance you’ll see a replica of this quality almost as slim.
I bought this car in 2009 and have used it primarily as a pleasure car. Initially, the one thing that attracted me to this car was that it was not Red or Black as 95% of these I have seen are either Red or Black and secondly this was quality built car. The paint is in excellent condition as evident in the pictures, aside from a few road chips mostly on passenger rear flare where you would expect to get stone chips. I would give the paint a 9 out of 10. The color is similar to Cadillac or Lexus Pearl White Metallic. It’s a head turner for sure. Interior has no tears or defects and little to no signs of wear. The Daytona has been primarily driven to dinner with my wife, to the golf course (yes you can fit a set of clubs in the trunk), Cars & Coffee and just ride a round and have fun on nice days and it's now time to let someone else enjoy this unique and collectible vehicle. Through my ownership it has been stored in my conditioned garage under cover when not being driven. It currently has about 5500 miles. When I purchased it is had about 1100 miles. The car came from New York area and was only used in the summer by the previous owner. He had it professionally built and was told at cost over $60K. It was built to run with a Cobra, but with Ferrari Style. 400 HP Fuel Injected Motor, Tremec 5 Speed Transmission, Posi-Traction. 245/40/17 High Performance Goodyear Eagle GT tires with 90% tread left. Custom knock of replica 3 piece wheels. All new parts were used in the build. Custom Leather Interior. Period correct Becker Stereo (in operable); also 10 disc changer behind the seats with removable face plate deck. Functioning power Antennae. Electric trunk release. Authentic Ferrari badging and corner marking lamps (look up the price in this part alone). Totally built from frame up using 1980 Corvette Chassis that was stripped, primed and painted. The car is built as a roadster, no windows, no top. I have a soft top I can include in the sale, but I do not have a frame. In my 5 years of ownership, only issue was a broken seal on the power steering pump and I broke a fan belt.
The reason I am selling is that I have purchased a new “toy” and I need the room. I am not interested in trades, as my new car is due to arrive within the week. I have set the reserve price at a very reasonable price and am a motivated seller.
Important rules of this auction, please read carefully. It takes time and money to run an auction and I want to sell my car, so if you have less than 10 transactions on eBay, or the majority of your transactions were for inexpensive items you must contact me to bid. You can email me through eBay. If your wife will not approve, do not bid. If you lost all your money in the recent stock market slide do not bid. If you are going to come up with some lame excuse and have buyers remorse, do not bid. I want to sell my car, get it? Please be serious, as I am a serious seller. If you bid and win, you bought the car period. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to pull down the add at any time. If you would like to inspect the car or send someone out for a PPI that can be arranged. Please contact me with any questions as I’ll be happy to answer them. Thank you.
