Forget the weak 18hp two cylinder, this has an 1800cc with 100hp water-cooled flat four perfect fit and low maintenance require, remember this is Subaru engine that will run forever! Forget about not being able to get on the highway or scared to go though a yellow light, you'll be pulling away from everyone effortlessly at the traffic light. It's fun to see peoples faces as they get passed by the old tiny 500! Read up on the Subaru EA81, & you'll see they are bullet proof & used in light air craft! This car has so much torque you don't even need to use 1st gear, I always start in 2nd gear! This car cost over $30k to build 3 years ago & will probably cost $35k to build now. The rust free 500 itself before doing anything was $12k just for the car alone take look the picture! All the recipes are available, in meantime I will give you some figure for what was done! The paint job alone was $4, 500 that included removing all glass, the doors, the lights, the bumpers & handmade front rear custom wheels fenders archers above the tires and front headlights chrome o rings modification that they use in Europe! The Subaru engine ea81 rebuilt was $3, 850 including the Weber carburetors & the adapter that you can only buy from Zcars in UK. The complete labor minus the paint job was 70 hours plus...approximately $6, 000! Car only has about 7, 500 thousand miles since it was built & driven only in the summer & always garage kept!
