1982 Fiat Spider 2000 Fuel Injection Convertible otherwise known as the Fiat 124 designed by Pininfarina. First delivered on May 28, 1982, this vehicle is the fuel injected 5 speed model and a rust free example of the most desirable year for the Fiat 124. This is one of the last true Fiat built 124s before it was reintroduced in 2016, and the values have been increasing as indicated on the Hagerty Valuation Tool. 61, 500 responsibly driven miles, always garaged out of weather and a very reliable car.
Original top and boot, interior, alloy wheels with original spare tire and tool kit all in outstanding condition. The original color British racing green is an older repaint showing some inperfections, blemishes and minor dents on very close inspection but very shiny. This vehicle has been maintained to the very highest standards with like new tires, tight suspension and excellent mechanicals. The original dealer installed radio and tape deck power up but do not work. The Ansa 7245 muffler produces a throaty even sound through the solid exhaust system with no smoke whatsoever and does not burn oil. Engine number C5003265 is the original 1995 cc dual overhead cam inline 4 cylinder with an aluminum head and Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection. It runs powerfully and quiet, shifting smoothly through all gears and is very peppy, some say she drives like new getting 25/36 mpg with a top speed of 110 mph running cool in all temperatures and speeds. All gauges, instruments and every light works perfectly, even the clock. All parts on this care are OEM and correct.
The convertible top is original and made of vinyl on the exterior and cloth on the interior and raises and lowers with ease. The side windows and vent windows operate perfectly.
The spare tire is the Pirelli P3 and original to the car with a blue stripe on the tread visibile and the original alloy wheels have like-new General Altimax tires mounted and corner and drive very well, the car drives straight and tight, the brakes work with no noise.
2 sets of keys come with the purchase and all locks match the keys and operate as they should.
The body is very straight and rust free. The doors, trunk and hood close easily and operate well.
The wood dash and shifter knob are original to the car and in fine condition, they have never been replaced.
The trim is bright, all plastic trim and moldings are good.
The floor mats are in perfect condition are custom newer material matching the all original carpet and the car comes with the original factory floor mats but they show wear.
The 3 point seat belts are original and retract easily for entry and exit.
With a recent fresh complete tune-up the car needs nothing to be driven any distance. There is no overheating whatsoever and the car has been regularly driven and maintained with the best parts when needed and even on the hottest days this summer the engine always operates at normal temperature even after long periods at highway speeds.
The 2 speed electronic wipers and windshield washer work perfectly.
We will not end the auction early for any reason. This is a very fun car to drive with everything working and maintained to the highest standards, a very reliable car.
