I recently purchased this car to take to my home in Mexico; but then discovered that the importation laws have changed and I am not able to bring her. So I am selling it.
The gentleman who I bought it from has owned it since 1980 and it was always garage kept. He had the engine rebuilt about 5K miles ago and I discovered that at that time he also had new brake lines run underneath for the rear brakes but I had all the other brake lines and calipers replaced as well.
He kept the car in excellent condition, but I still had quite a bit of restoration work done in order for it to be in as close to perfect condition as possible. I had the timing belt changed, the radiator drained and reconditioned. It is a Washington State classic car so you just have the title changed and there are no yearly tags or smog to worry about...even if you don't live in Washington. So I had all the emissions crap taken off the engine and it runs much stronger than it did with that stuff on. The tires are in great shape.
The interior on it was in need of upgrades; so I had new custom seats made for it including new foam bottom to the drivers seat specifically correct to the car. The car originally comes with vinyl interior, but I had cloth seats made for it so it doesn't burn my wife's legs on sunny shorts days. I put a new boot on it. The top is rarely ever been used and is in fine shape having been replaced a couple of years ago.
I had planned to re-do the door panels and have the door mechanisms greased. .but the interiors guy doing the work had too much work and was not able to get to that part of the job yet. The doors work but the passenger side is stiff from lack of use. It could use the center column replaced or re-furbished. I have a satellite radio with blue-tooth and memory card slots that I bought for it as the stereo in it did not work. .but when I realized I could not take it with me I did not have it installed yet in case the new owner wanted to go a different direction.
New steering wheel, new seat belts. I put new fuel pumps and gas tank valves. Replaced the caliper hoses for the brake system. New oil pump, reconditioned the radiator. New ignition switch. She runs really well, the manual transmission is good and shifts smoothly. It doesn't have power steering but it is not a hard steer what so ever.
It really is a very fun car in excellent condition. There are some slight imperfections, it is not a new car of course. My plan had been to have it re-painted in a couple of years...the paint looks fine but it is 36 years old. There are a couple of little dings but really not anything out of the ordinary and nothing that detracts from the beauty if the car.
When we had the work done on it we inspected it quite closely from underneath and found that it had never been in an accident and that it has no rust as it has been garage kept her whole life. The designer of the body is Pininfarina who did all of the Ferrari bodies.
She is a beautiful car with a timeless class to her.
She gets quite a number of comments and people always want to know what it is. Parts are readily available and I have all the records for her going back to new as well as parts catalogs though everything is readily available online. Keep in mind that your looking at a very well kept classic car that is rising in value quite nicely.
Shipping is of course at new owners expense. Happy to help with that, but I am an average Joe, not a dealer. .so you will need to arrange shipping company etc. which Ebay appears to have pretty well structured.
