Ford Crown Victoria (2003)
for sale
Price: US $1,000.00
Price: US $1,000.00
This ultra clean 2003 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (P71
pkg) has 73k miles. I purchased this car
in December of 2008 as an ex-GSA government vehicle with 31k miles. It was sold through Brasher’s auto auction in
Sacramento, CA. I am the second owner
of the vehicle and have performed all maintenance since 31K miles. It had the transmission flushed soon after
purchase, and I have changed the engine oil every 5k miles, always using
Valvoline or Mobil 1 synthetic oil.
This 2003 Crown Victoria features many improvements over the
previous model year. These include a
multi-link rear suspension with watts-link, which handles much better than the
previous four-link rear suspension. The
front suspension is revised, with coil-over shocks and aluminum lower control
arms. Rack and pinion steering replaced
the outdated, ultra-vague steering box and link steering from 2002 and earlier. The 4.6L V-8 has the “PI” (improved
performance) top end, making more low-end torque and more horsepower than
earlier versions (239 HP).
Modifications to the car include 2005 Mustang “fan blade”
wheels with 255/45/zr18 BFGoodrich GForce KDWS tires. The tires were installed 4 years and 15k
miles ago. There is 75% tread left on
these tires. If you know anything about
tires, you will recognize that these are expensive, high performance
tires. They completely change the
character of the Crown Victoria and drastically improve steering response, cornering stability, and braking performance. These tires are outstanding in wet conditions.
The front brakes have been replaced with Hawk HPS pads and
Power Slot rotors. A 2005 Crown Victoria
“zip tube” has been installed. This tube
is larger diameter and smoother than the stock 2003 intake tube, and provides a
slight increase in performance. The
spark plugs were changed with Motorcraft platinum plugs at 32K miles. An OEM CD player head unit out of a late
model Ford has been installed as well.
Included with the car will be Hawk HPS rear brake pads and
Power Slot rear rotors. I will also include
an OEM 21mm rear anti-roll bar from a Crown Victoria Sport. It is new, unused, and includes the bushings
required to install it. This will reduce
understeer and improve overall handling. I simply never had time to install these parts.
This car is extremely reliable; all switches and controls
function properly.
There are some very minor flaws with the car that I want to
be 100% honest about so there are no complaints from the winning bidder. All of these discrepancies are shown in the photographs. There is a rub on the driver side front
bumper corner, and the corner marker light has a small crack at the
bottom. There is a rub on the passenger side
rear bumper corner. It has been touched
up and buffed out so it is not very noticeable. There are two antenna holes in the roof that have been plugged with
silicone sealant and white plastic plugs. There are no leaks in the roof. I
have touched up the paint in three places where the factory paint chipped off. I blended and buffed out the touch-up, and
the flaws are not noticeable from more than five feet away. There are two holes in the dash trim where a
microphone was mounted when in service with the GSA. I removed the body
side molding on the doors and covered the holes in the rear doors with adhesive
tape (shown in pics). The stock moldings
will be in the trunk if you want to reattach them.
This car has not had any body panels replaced and has never
been in an accident. I have been
underneath and through every part of this car and can confirm that it has not
been wrecked.
Make no mistake, this is a very clean, well cared for, garage kept vehicle (last 7 years). It
is not perfect, but I believe it is just about the cleanest prior-service
Crown Victoria Police Interceptor you will find. That is why I sold my old Crown Vic and
bought this one in 2008. I had big plans
for this car. I wanted to do a manual
transmission swap using a Marauder center console, head and cam swap, suspension
and brake upgrades. But, being active
duty Military with two young children has limited my time for project vehicles. With a classic Ford diesel truck and CJ-7
already in the barn, I do not have the time to make this vehicle into what I
want it to be. So, I have decided to
sell my beloved Crown Victoria while it is a relatively low mileage
example. I am also moving across the
country very soon, so I want to sell the vehicle now to avoid shipping fees.
I have many other parts that I was going to use in the build
of this car. Please contact me if you are interested in any of the following parts. These ARE NOT included with the auction, but are available as a separate purchase.
-Mercury Marauder air box w/ MAF – New, in box
-USED Mercury Marauder center console, gage pod, and shifter
(some minor wear and cracked plastic parts but very useable)
-USED Mercury Marauder instrument cluster (good used
condition)
-Dark Flint color center console arm rest (new in box OEM
Ford)
-Used Mercury Marauder overhead console. Great condition.
If you would like to see pictures of any of these parts, please either send me a message or ask a question on this page. I will reply to questions on this page so that everyone can see the pictures.
This car is available for local pickup ONLY, from Coos Bay, OR. NO SHIPPING IS PROVIDED BY THE
SELLER. After July 25th, the
vehicle can been picked up from Coos Bay, or I can arrange for pickup in Forest
Grove, OR, which is only 40 minutes outside Portland, OR. If that is a better option, I am willing to
relocate the car for free.
This vehicle is sold AS-IS with NO warranty. I have gone to great lengths to repair all
mechanical problems with the car. It
runs perfectly. I have explained all discrepancies
with the body and paint of the car. The
interior is VERY clean and does not have any offensive odors, which are very
common in ex-service cars. Don’t pass up
this opportunity to get a low-mileage, well maintained, late-model chassis
Crown Victoria at a very good price.
Payment via PayPal, cashier’s check, or cash ONLY. Please, no personal checks or any other weird stuff. Deposit due within 1 day of wining bid. Pickup within 1 week of winning, unless otherwise arranged with me. If
you contact me and arrange pickup details, I should be able to accommodate pickup
after 1 week from winning.
