Ford E-Series Van (1999)
for sale
Price: US $5,000.00
Price: US $5,000.00
This is a great van, a less common, heavy duty E250 series, think of Ford F250, GMC/Chevy/Dodge Ram 2500 series. These are built with heavy duty components, ride a little higher, have higher towing capacity and are downright the best
bet for long term durability.
This van has 75K original miles….documented service and
carfax reports. I purchased the van from
the original owner 3 years ago, I have taken this van on many great road trips
with my kids, everyone is comfortable, the ride is nice, it’s a great cruiser, gets decent gas mileage….same as my 2012 Lincoln Navigator….same engine as
well.
This van can tow heavy loads, I have only used it several
times to tow my 20 foot boat to the Poconos however it handles it with ease, not like the cross-over vehicles where your pushing a front drive based system.
There are 2 AC/Heat systems that work great. Power windows, seats, locks….everything is
power and works great. I upgraded the
stereo system to a Kenwood with DVD/CD, Bluetooth hands free, IPhone/Pandora
integration and a new amp with 6 new Kenwood 5x7 speakers. The van was set up for towing, however did
not have the actual hitch so I added that. The tires are all new within 3K miles; the breaks (front
pads/rotors/calipers) are new in the last 2 years…stops very smooth. Oil has been changed every 3K by me and looks
to be by previous owner. The van
includes all the manuals.
There are a few cosmetic issues that are very reasonable
since the van is 15 years old. The paint
on the raised roof is fading where the TV section is…this seems to be common issue. You can’t tell from walking around it, you
need to be above the van to notice. In
addition, there is some chipping on the painted ground effects panels from
Explorer Vans, these are plastic or fiberglass, so I guess the paint does not
hold up as well. Lastly, there are some
cracks in the plastic panels inside the van that are attached to the
doors. These panels hold the blinds. I guess the plastic gets brittle over time
and as the doors are opened and closed they crack. They don’t rattle and the blinds work
however. I believe that Explorer vans
has parts for older models to repair/replace body parts, however I was not
concerned.
The engine is the larger, optional 5.4 V8, I think it has
about 285HP in 1999, runs great…smooth, strong pull. The interior is in very good shape, no tears, clean and operational. I never used the
TV, however it turns on. My kids all
used personal DVD players and tablets, so we didn’t need to use it.
I take very good care of my cars, I would have no hesitation
in jumping in this tomorrow and driving it to California. The van was PA inspected…and passed of
course, in April.
I am selling because I purchased a newer Navigator, my kids
are getting older…..so I don’t have always have 5 kids traveling with me
anymore.
I am asking 7, 250.00 for the Econoline, it’s a fair price, and
you will know when you see it. I am open
to close offers, however don’t bother calling me if you’re not going to be in
the ball park.
Thanks for looking.
