I live in the U.K. & purchased this car back in 2011, six years after Al Eckstrand shipped it over to the UK for his use whilst touring the shows & race circuits around Great Britain. He made regular trips from his home in Naples, Florida and I have provenance from the UK garage that looked after it for him, the Florida based company that did the 'custom' work for him and a copy of the original U.K. Registration in his name.
I have a full USA Vehicle History Report from when the car was new in 1996 to when he purchased it in 2005. The U.S company did the bodywork & mechanical work for him including lowering & installing a short-throw shifter.
When I bought this Mustang, it had a leak from the plastic thermostat housing (apparently a common problem) which I had professionally repaired - it didn't last so in 2012/13 I bit the bullet and had a new intake manifold with upgraded (steel) thermostat housing shipped over from the States and fitted here in the UK.
The paintwork is still in lovely condition and it's always drawn admiring comments at the local car shows I've taken it to - the interior again, although basic (no electric windows etc - lightness) is in good condition & very presentable.
Fitted with genuine 'Cobra' wheels - you would refurbish these if you're going for the concours look !
I've never used the car enough - it's on the button and sounds fantastic through its special exhausts - I've only averaged 100 miles per year, MOT'd (U.K.Ministry of Transport Roadtest) it twice and now that I've changed jobs, I never get the time to ever take it out. 300 miles in the last three & half years - I bought it at around 137, 200 and it's now covered 137, 570 mls. - sitting around in storage doesn't do any car any good !!
Although MOT'd until August 2015, because it's been sitting around for the last few years, I recommend that this will need fully checking over, re-commissioning & servicing prior to regular use - it's UK registered - I have a V5C, Aug 2015 MOT and all the relevant provenance including bills and various bits & pieces.
