This is a REAL, 100% authentic, without the slightest doubt, original GT as documented by the factory buck tag. There were only 3 factories in 1966 that created and installed buck tags on their cars and this car has one. It identifies the car as being a 4 speed car with the GT (P10) package. There weren't many of these made. Why buy a recreation or tribute when you can have the real thing? This is the real deal.
Extremely rare, this nicely restored 1966 Mustang GT fastback has a 289 V8, 4 speed manual trans and factory front disc brakes. This car is authentic and as NEW as it gets. All the major engine and transmission components are dated coded and correct for 1966 including the rebuilt Autolite carburetor. Add to that, the car has no miles on it. It has been completely disassembled, rebuilt and reassembled. The engine and trans are original for 1966 and have been completely rebuilt from top to bottom by professional, reputable shops. The transmission is a one year only (1966) Borg Warner T10 4 speed with a Hurst shifter. ALMOST EVERY MECHANICAL PART ON THIS CAR IS EITHER NEW OR REBUILT. The parts you can't see, the clutch disc, pressure plate and flywheel are also new.
It is impossible to list all of the parts that are new or restored. The interior is new along with new seat buns, upholstery, headliner, dash pad and door panels. The paint is new color/clear coat, the entire brake system, all of the chrome and even the exhaust is a new reproduction GT component. If you can think of a part on this car, it's probably new. All of the sheet metal on this car is original Ford sheet metal with the exception of the front and rear valance panels.
The car was Candy Apple red from the factory with a standard black interior which has been upgraded to a NEW deluxe Pony interior.
The car drives straight, runs strong and stops people dead in their tracks. It starts up immediately even when it's dead cold and runs smooth without missing a beat. Shifting through the gears will bring a smile to your face and press your back into the seat. This car is truly amazing and one that you'll enjoy for years to come.
