First off, let me make clear to anyone who has never actually driven this first hand, SHE IS AN ABSOLUTE BEAST!! I dreamed about getting this car for years and when the day came, it completely took me by surprise. I love this car but I also find it incredibly OVER POWERED for where I live here in Santa Barbara. This car is really made for someone who makes tracking their hobby. Although this car is incredibly comfortable and a great daily driver, imo to truly enjoy this car you're going to want to take it to the track, take off those stock tires and put some slicks on it if you really want to translate the power band into tractionable and articulated power. On the streets it's just too darn fast imo. Again, I live in Santa Barbara where you can't really open this thing up. So pound for pound I simply don't get to really enjoy it as much as I had hoped.
If you're looking for something to scare the living sh#t out of you, then you're looking at the right car! Also, this is the last great Shelby that was built during the the all new Shelby GT 350 they actually down graded the engine performance by about -100 less HP!! Yes that's right, the older model from 2013-2014 were the height of Shelby Power. It's a true honor to have this car and I've been reluctant to come to this day of selling it but with my first kid on the way and now engaged, it's time to calm my ways and so I'm going for a tricked out Wrangler.
Now to the condition, add-ons, and stats:
CONDITION → MINT: She's been garaged since I drove her off he lot, oiled on time with nothing but the best synthetic and her first scheduled service inspection. I take extraordinary car of my possessions but this one especially got front stage. Member of an unlimited car wash detailing club and get her washed about 2 to 3x a month and detailed at least 1 every 2 months. She is mint.
WEAR: 1) There are some scratches underneath the steering wheel but nothing you can really see unless you look under the steering wheel. 2) There is also a ding the size of a black bean that is barely noticeable on the outside body of the car (drivers side). 3) There is a rim scratch from lightly hitting curb when parking (front right wheel when driving)

PROFILE :
With 662 bhp on tap at 6250 rpm and 631 lb.-ft. of torque arriving at 4000 rpm, this new aluminum-block powerplant truly is a beast, giving the GT500 a top speed of 202 mph—reached in 5th gear during testing at the Nardo track in Italy. And while it may be tempting to call this new a front-heavy straight-line rocket, Ford's SVT crew has improved the car in several areas to create a well-balanced GT that's totally at home on a road course yet remarkably civil in everyday situations.
Big, Big Power
The heart of the new 2013 Shelby GT500 is its dohc 5.8-liter V-8, which has the same stroke as the previous 5.4 but has had its bore increased from 90.5 to 93.5 mm. This 32-valve V-8, with block cast by Hansel in Germany, is built to produce (and handle) all that new power, with forged crank, pistons and rods, camshafts similar to those used in the supercar, increased fuel injector flow, improved head gaskets and robust Stellite-faced exhaust valves that withstand the added cylinder pressure. Of note, the redline remains at 6250 rpm, but an over-rev function to 7000 rpm is allowed for up to eight seconds, in part to help prevent the GT500 from hitting its rev limiter during shifts in acceleration runs so 0-60 mph and quarter-mile times can be faster.
Other vitals: The compression ratio has been bumped from 8.4 to 9.0:1, and peak boost—provided by a new 2.3-liter Roots-type TVS blower with a 33 percent larger inlet and a 69-mm pulley (down from 72)—has risen from 9 psi to 14. The previous 5.4 had cast-iron cylinder liners, whereas the 5.8-liter V-8—a true 351 cubic inch V-8—employs plasma-transferred wire arc cylinder liner technology. This super thin (150 microns) spray-on bore surface saves about 1 lb. per cylinder while having the added benefit of reduced friction, less heat transfer and improved durability.

“She is in immaculate condition and has been obsessively cared for. She has been garaged since she came off the lot so she is in excellent condition. There are a few scratches on the steering wheel from coming in & out of the car...nothing you can really see unless you look under the steering wheel. Also on the driver side of the car towards the gas tank...there is an extremely small dent the size of a black bean that you can barely see unless the light shines on it from a certain angle. If you are a serious buyer, simply request more pics and I would be happy to take pictures of any specific thing/area of the car.” |
