1966 Ford Mustang- Sprint 200
San Jose Factory Build
Look No Further- A real head turner!!
This ’66 is a Sprint 200
edition - includes factory A/C. This is a base 200ci 6 cylinder engine- a
cruising car, not a muscle car.
The car drives like a dream. The lines are straight as can be. All
gauges, lights etc. are in perfect working condition. Tires are in great shape;
full spare included with tool-box (and a few basic tools) along with a car
cover.
Car was restored to factory
appearance. The cowl area was replaced; no leaks! All paperwork regarding past work is included. Recent
fixes/updates that I’ve made include:
-rebuilt carburetor
-new u-joints
-valve cover gasket
-new rear differential cover/seal
-left rear axle shaft seal
-new oil pressure sensor
-new disc brakes in the front
Body and Exterior:
The paint job on this car is
perfect. The car
is 99% rust free. There are a couple of cancer spots on both doors
(see pics) not very noticeable from a few feet back; more obvious standing
right up on them. They’ll need to be
addressed at some point. There is a
section of rust (a hole) on the passenger floor board- not uncommon. It’s about 5 inches long and a 1/2 inch wide-
in spots. I’m including two new (short) floor pans for the driver and passenger sides.
Nothing is wrong with the driver side.
Interior:
Interior
is in 100% perfect shape. The seats, carpet and dash are clean and free of holes, rips or tears. Headliner is in
great shape; clean with no rips or tears. The car has a cassette, AM/FM
radio. It also has four speakers and an
amp installed in the trunk.
Mechanical/Engine etc:
Overall, for 50 years old, pretty
sound in the mechanical department. As mentioned above, all lights and gauges
are in perfect working condition. Yes, the horn works too. The heater and fan
work perfectly for those cooler/cold days. I haven’t had the need to use the
A/C since I’ve owned the car.
The oil pan drips the smallest amount of oil- 50 year old cars will
do this; oil level has not suffered. I
haven’t added a drop to the reservoir.
Summary:
This little car is an excellent example of a refurbished
1966 Sprint and it is listed in the 1966 Mustang Sprint Registry. It is ready for you to show
(almost!) or just cruise. I’ve been using it as my daily driver with no issues
whatsoever.
