2004 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Coupe
This ’04 Mustang SVT Cobra is a gorgeous, stock*, unmolested, 23, 000 mile, single-family owned example of what Mustang aficionados have aptly named, “The Terminator”. So named as it was the baddest Mustang of its day, equipped with a 4.6 Liter, four-cam, supercharged, modular V8 developing 390 hp and 390 ft lbs of torque mated to a six speed Tremec transmission. It is one of only 281 Cobra’s painted Competition Orange in 2004. The ’04 Cobra model has a host of features not found in normal GT’s; including independent rear suspension and 13” Brembo ABS brakes.
My brother and I have owned Mustangs since 1965. He worked at a Ford dealership and bought this car new. He personally babysat the car from the moment it arrived at the dealership from the factory. I fell in love with the color and kept after him until he agreed to sell it to me three-years later in 2007 with 11, 000 miles on it. Today it has just a bit over 23, 000 miles. It has led a pampered life. The paint is brilliant. The interior is perfect. The car runs as new. The second set of factory keys is new and un-used. The “Competition Orange” color is spectacular, an absolute head-turner. I’ve seen only one other Cobra in this color in the eight years I’ve owned the car.
The pictures tell the story; this is a stunningly beautiful car!
This car is cosmetically superb but it has been driven and there minor imperfections. The RF wheel has a small but visible nick in the rim, the other three wheels are perfect. There is a small stone-chip on the hood, not visible in the pictures, maybe 1/16”, easily touched-up. There are tiny rock pecks in the leading edge of the rear brake scoops, too small to show up in the pictures. There are a couple of imperfections on the grill opening, small, but visible if you’re looking for them.
*The car has had two mods; it’s been lowered about 1” with H&R Springs and I’ve installed a genuine OEM Ford 2001 Cobra cat-back exhaust. The stock ’04 Cobra exhaust had two resonators and two mufflers and was a bit too subdued. The ’01 Cobra exhaust does not have the extra resonators and it sounds terrific. The stock springs and stock exhaust come with the car if desired.
