It's time for me to sell my 1991 Geo Metro. I acquired this car not to long ago and I have put a lot of work into it in the short time I've been driving it. I'm selling it because a family member sold me a newer car at an unbeatable deal and I don't need to pay for two cars. I will do my best to describe all of the good the bad and the ugly with this vehicle but recognize that it is a 24 year old economy car. I live in Houston. Now on to the fun stuff!
This car boasts a 1.0L 3cylinder engine. That's 55hp of fury. It has a 5 speed manual transmission. The Odometer reads 82, 955. I believe it's 182, 955.
This little tractor drives hard and pulls surprisingly strong for a 55hp engine. The transmission shifts smooth, no trouble getting into any gear. I do 75mph all day driving from the west side of Houston up to the airport (60 miles round trip).
The title is clean and clear and ready to be put in your name.
The interior is about a 5/10. It's a little worn but no tears or rips in the fabric or cracks in the dash. The carpet is coming down a little in the trunk you can see it in the picture. The headliner is perfect. The car has a Sony removable face cassette player. At this time, only the front left speaker works.
The following is the work I've done to it. I have receipts for everything. The records will go with the car:
-New Plugs
-New Wire Set
-New Rotor
-New Air Filter
-Set Timing
-New Fuel Filter
-New O2 sensor
-New PCV valve
-Oil Change 5w-30
-2 new rear tires
-New Passenger CV half Shaft
-Filled Transmission with Synchromesh
-New Thermostat
-New Radiator
-New Belts
-Cleaned EGR system (ream and compressed air), replaced EGR gasket
-New Wiper Blades
I have but have not installed yet (these parts will come with the car) new water pump, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, cam and crank seal, and timing cover.
The car needs:
AC inspection. (AC runs and blows cold when charged but leaks within a few days below the low pressure sensor threshold)
-Needs new brakes as there is a shimmy when braking above 30mph.
-needs door locks and ignition rebuilt. the tip is broken off in the igniton and the drivers door so you have to use the broken key to open the drivers door and start the car and the unbroken key to open the passenger door and the hatchback.
-The paint is rough on the hood.
-Needs a hubcap
-The pull out cup holder is missing.
-The Stereo works but the display is a little hard to read and only the front left speaker works
All in all this has been a great car. I get 45mpg everwhere I go. I have driven far and wide in this car. Austin 3 hours, San Antonio 3 hours, Dallas 4 hours and it always starts right up and gets me down the road.
This car is for sale locally. If it sells I will end the auction early. $500 deposit due immediately upon auction end and the balance due and car must be picked up within 7 days.
