RESISTING DUE TO PREVIOUS BUYER BACKING OUT ON DEAL -
I Bought this car locally from a fellow who brought it back from Phoenix or New Mexico.
the body has 200k on it, but engine, trans, exhaust, tires, front brakes, suspension, and most of the underhood electrical have been replaced/restored. THERE IS NO RUST ANYWHERE on this body, subframe, under carriage etc. - its a very clean/but faded and driven Geo Metro XFI.
This car is ready for another 200k - the interior is super clean save for a couple cracks in the dash.
I just replaced the heater switch (which are notorious for failing) and I swapped the old am/fm for a later model factory CD player.
GREAT gas mileage - driving it with no regard for fuel economy, still nets an honest and easy 45mpg, more in the summer, less in the winter - NOW-If you are a frugal hyper-miler and can keep your foot out of it , and keep the car no faster than 55mph, you will easily see - 55mpg or more, these cars pay for themselves.
The paint is faded and the window rubber is trash - it has a few small dents, and a handful of scratches - the passenger door needs a lock cylinder but it still opens/closes just fine - it locks from the inside - drivers door needs an interior door handle bezel - but the door handle/lock open perfectly.
The drivers window goes up/down just fine - but since the weatherstripping is failed - it needs some guidance keeping it back in the track - once its up and in the track - its fine, it seals, and does not fall out when driving at any speed - - if you roll the window up/down - it struggles to stay in the track on the way up without help from the outside - Since it was in Arizona, a previous owner installed window tints which have started delaminating (they look rough - but really do keep the sun out of the car) - so really - the only issue of note on this car are the window felts/rubbers - they are dried out and need replacing, but just something I never got around to. Also - there are some hammer marks in the door jamb on both sides - no idea why - as there is no evidence or history of an accident on either side.
I've recently noticed that the idle is a bit rough - but smooths out perfectly as you bring the RPM up - this happened only after I pressure washed the engine compartment prior to taking photos.I suspect this will clean up as its driven - i put new plugs/wires/wipers and a battery in it this winter - but did not change the distributor cap, rotor, air filter, or fuel filter -
i wouldn't hesitate to get in this car and drive it anywhere - i've done it - and its never let me down personally -
Please see the photos for any details - you can easily get in this car and drive it Anywhere - I live about 15 minutes from the Detroit Metro airport - fly in - and drive this car ANYWHERE.
thanks for looking -
