After 250, 000+ miles and 16 years of fun, it's time to part with the family dog.
It's been a 4 year - keep it alive mission. I kept telling myself that a $100 repair would be the end. All the fixes have been cheap so far.
It was a good time in the summer with the doors and top off. I'll miss that.
But it left me sitting at the park, dead at the key. I tried all the tricks, no crank, no start. About the time by buddy showed up to give us a ride, it started and ran just fine. WTF???
We drove it around several times over the next few weeks with no problems.
Then, no crank sitting right in the shed. A few days later, it would crank but not start. Now, I'm done.
We always told our son that as long as we have this car, he was on call. Mitch, you're no longer on call.
I could probably fix it again, but I just don't have it in me. Bye, Felecia.
Currently inop. (Maybe I should have checked the disability box?)
Is there a following for these cars out there? Can anyone use whats left? Whats the carcass worth?
The local yard offered me $200.00. My wife said we can't just junk it. (The hell we can't!)
Ebay's going to hook me $60.00 if it sells, so that's where I have to start.
I'm gonna put it on CL as well, just to see what happens.
I repaired the front wheel bearings 3 years ago, and will throw in the tool I had to buy to do that job.
I'll also throw in all the rust you can find. There's plenty.
If you look closely, you'll see Ross the Chocolate Lab enjoying his last ride in George. Ross is NOT included in this auction.
Auction winner must bring dog treats. Ross needs a little something, too.
